Title: Use brute force to open locked containers
Post by: ( Tchey ) on September 02, 2014, 03:16:54 pm
What do you think about being able to open a locked box with brute force, if you don't have the skills or lockpick to open it ? There would be a small risk of destroying the content, but at least you could try. Same goes for doors : destroy them, but never close them again (or yes, use mecanics and some crafting components to fix the broken stuff).

It has been sugested before and I'm not sure whether styg has answered on it or not.

I did raised a point about it not being a very good idea. If people want to open locked stuff they should need the skill, otherwise no one would invest into it and would just bash stuff. Even if there is a chance to lose stuff you still gain a lot more loot with no skill investment.

Bash could work but the noise you create should draw attention (human or beast) since you aren't exactly stealth thief and we could have some of them trapped if you try bashing so they explode but all this lot of unnecessary programming which could be put to better use.
