Suggestions / Re: Altering the level cap (Warning: Text wall)

What is wrong here and what will happen is number 3. You should be few levels below 25 when entering Deep Caverns. The XP curve works better on oddity.

Classic XP has the unfortunate downside that players can always grind mobs for XP and gain as many levels as their patience allows. It will always be possible to reach level cap early on classic. Getting it balanced just right for all the playstyles from rushers to completionists is something that will be tweaked over time.

There's a bug on the forum software Styg never got around to fixing, it eats non-ascii characters. :( And technically, the slanted apostrophes are not apostrophes, but accent marks...

If mob respawn is removed then you can balance the total amount of xp earned through the game easily, right?

I don't how it is now but few time ago, Project Zomboid devs published tools to prerender things from 3d scenes and animations. This kind of tools could be great to help to do that and futher modding possibilities.

For the suggestion i dont think it's the game philosophy. Dual weiling is stupid at best / fatal at worst. Your off hand is too weak,  make you louse your stability and when you figth you show a side so your off hand is not well situated and move to contact to have reach just dissalow you evade parry properly. It an action movie things, praticaly, you look silly and you die for ever touch you could do and i don't even talk of impaling yourself on your enemy weapons. So you trade the ability to survive for a possibility to pass defenses with a weak weapon.

Because running around with 250 lbs doesn't look silly...  :P It's a video game - nothing looks silly.

Yeah, that's the same. Just that I feel that there should be difficulty level in between current normal and easy.

Armor penetration. As the game progresses you will meet enemies with tougher armor and the ability to punch through it becomes important.

Ahh, I hadn't considered that.  Makes sense.  Still seems a little strange that it would take three times as long to aim / pull a trigger on a higher caliber handgun.  Rifles being an entirely different story.

Not so unrealistic tbh...

What does seem unrealistic tho is a damage difference. .44 should hit like a truck and heavy armored targets should be knocked down with each hit. But this a video game and there should be balance, otherwise it would be too boring...

I think that such mode would hurt the seriousness and reputation of Underrail as a hardcore old school rpg game. It's often even seen as a true sequel to Fallout 2.
Days where games like this would add cheat codes/modes are gone.

Because video games are serious business, yeah? :) Well, it should be an option and not even a default one. In many aspects this game is more hardcore than Fallout 1/2 in any case, so it wouldn't matter much.

Besides, FGV is only efficient against lightly armored targets.

Are you playing on Easy? On normal grenades only able kill minor npcs: rats, dogs and such. Same goes for aoe Psi.

So you even doesn't know about Grenade V?

And how many hours into the game FGV becomes readily available? Also what to do for all those who didn't level throwing?

Well, maybe you know something that I don't or you are really good player but I really cannot see how can you manage 4-5 NPCs with a lot of controlling, a lot of HP and hell a lot of DPS that game throws at you from time to time... Maybe because you played the game so much you know exactly how to prepare for each encounter - what armor to wear, what ammo to use, etc-etc, but that's effectively the same as reloading the game for the same encounter a few times until you figure our strategy that can help you win against the odds even if you are not very lucky on rolls...

Just notice how this guy is playing on Hard: https://youtu.be/XKPcWWgbuYo?t=2660 - missed Aimed Shot? Reload. Missed Kneecap Shot? Reload. Got critted couple times? Reload... Etc-etc-etc...

Basically, I am not asking for the current Hard to get nerfed. But would be really nice to get a difficulty level in between current Easy and Normal... And also to rename Normal to Hard (because it's actually harder than most games Hard mode) and Hard to Very Hard... That should make everyone happy - good players like you and crappy players who still like extra bit of challenge like me hehe...

I wasnt able to find save data and what not. he doesnt keep the game data in plaintext from what i can see, and i dont knwo if there are any ways to open the DLL's

DLL is basically the EXE with a bit different header - it's the code and some constant/hardcoded values. Save game files are definitely a binary format for this game.
Cheat Engine just changes the in memory values while the game is running. Here are the tables for cheat engine: http://forum.cheatengine.org/viewtopic.php?t=586479 Didn't test everything there but weightless inventory is definitely working...

Very good suggestions!

As of now I use cheat engine script to remove weight limits. I really hate when game forces weight limits...
