General / [spoiler] expedition lore - conversations with dude
« on: September 01, 2019, 09:48:53 am »
One tidbit of dialogue with dude got me really curious: when asked about rift walking, he warns you about getting stuck in the in-between. He says it's like "when something sharp splits your head in two and those two halves can see each other with the one eye each one has."

Sooo... Tchort has one eye and is prime suspect to be descendent from a leviathan. Occulus is an eye (sort of) and that is where Six resides. And now I wonder whether that isn't the origin of godmen and leviathans: once upon the time a technology advanced race discovered how to travel through time & space (but they didn't have dude onboard to warn them about the dangers  :P) and became "split" when in the in-between. One half got corrupted by the void, the other remained in the light, so to speak.

Bugs / protectorate CAU quest [game ending spoilers]
« on: January 16, 2016, 06:25:45 pm »
I have already posted about a similar bug on the tchort institute quest line: if you fail the interview and are forced to fight your way through, the game doesn't acknowledge that this quest is failed.

The same happened during the protectorate quest line: after learning that the CAU wanted to use a mutagen on the free drones, my character turned on them and destroyed the entire fort apogee base. Again, the game doesn't acknowledge that, the quest to plant the mutagen in the free drones hideout remains open. Unfortunately, because of this, the game also assumes the character remained allied with the protectorate:

Not only doesn't it make sense, it's pretty disappointing to get such an ending.

Bugs / Institute of tchort forbidden lab quest problem (spoilers)
« on: January 13, 2016, 08:24:28 pm »
This is directly connected to the "locked out of tchort's institute" problem. As it is, you can only free the rejected in the forbidden lab if you join the tchortists., because the correct sequence of events for this quest to succeed is: jump down the hole in West Wing, open the cages and the ventilator shaft leading to the West Wing. Unfortunately, this means that If you make the tchortists hostile too early (e.g by failing the interview), you won't be able to finish this quest, because jumping down that hole locks you out of the institute.

Such quest design would make sense if you had to sneak the rejected out, but it is possible to fight your way through the entire building instead, killing all tchortists, and in this case it makes no sense that you still have to find them a "secret" way out. It's not like there are any "keepers" left to stop them.

Bugs / gas grenade doesn't turn the affected NPCs hostile
« on: January 09, 2016, 06:56:25 pm »
Throwing a gas grenade doesn't cause hostility, and neither do the affected NPCs walk out of the cloud, making it a completely safe and "people-friendly" assassination tool:

Bugs / Locked out of tchort institute (big spoilers)
« on: January 08, 2016, 12:04:19 pm »
I have been playing around with the tchort institute questline, and noticed the following:

1) if you are accepted, do the "Track down Rassophore Nevil" quest and leave the institute, you can go back through the main gate, however,

2) if you are accepted, do the "Track down Rassophore Nevil" quest, decide to investigate the basement, make the tchortists hostile, then leave the institute through the same vent as Nevil, you get locked out, as the main gate won't open.

Is there any other way in? Otherwise, it's not possible to progress with the main plot.

I have also tried sneaking into the basement to avoid turning tchortists hostile, but the following door is inaccessible in my game, because the cook blocks one path and the cashier the other:

Bugs / institute of tchort bug (spoilers)
« on: January 03, 2016, 08:18:54 pm »
My character has failed the interview and was attacked by the tchortist. Yet the quest still remains open and is not marked as failed:

Also, even though my character managed to persuade the old rejected to leave his cage, and all the tchortist in all accessible areas are dead (as well as the creatures in the West Wing, except for the faceless), there is not dialogue option to tell him that. Which makes little sense, as in another rescue scenario (Newton at SGS), the NPC acknowledges that the way out clear.

General / Institute of tchort quest help (spoilers)
« on: January 02, 2016, 11:45:57 pm »
Does anyone know how to convince the old rejected from the basement lab to leave? At this point all of the tchortist, including scientists and civilians, are dead and the cages are open. But when talking to the old rejected, my character can only promise to look for a solution. Even after succeeding with the persuade checvk they still refuse to leave.

Do you need to ask someone else to help them?

Bugs / Ola (JKK) dialogue bug
« on: January 01, 2016, 05:15:44 pm »
After finishing the JKK quest line and talking to Ola about the reward, one of the dialogue options leads back to all the conversations from the "rescue the hostages" quest.

Bugs / cryostasis and other disablers
« on: December 30, 2015, 09:53:28 pm »
I am not sure that it counts as a bug, but combat ending when enemies are still present, but disabled, is very annoying.

Here is an example: my mage was fighting the final match in the arena, and made the mistake of putting Carnifex into a cryostasis, in order to try to shatter him via cryogenic induction. Instead what happens is that combat ends and a few seconds later starts again, initiatives get re-rolled and Carnifex wins. I am a slow player - which is why I like turn-based combat - and I honestly don't have the reflexes to react in situations like this (assuming there even is something that can be done).

As it is, this feature makes certain strategies - like cryostasis shatter - not very viable. And that's not very fun; after all, what is the point of shattering enemies into hundreds of glittering pieces if not winning arena matches?  ;)

Bugs / Geezer Ford minor bug (spoilers)
« on: December 23, 2015, 09:34:17 am »
This is a very minor bug, because it doesn't break the dialogue or the quest. After getting the "fish on the Southern tour" quest, and bringing Geezer one of the species he requested, his response contained a line of programming code (I am guessing instead of the name of the fish, it was a pentapus). Following dialogue lines were all okay.
