The gas cloud forms with a significant delay making it almost useless to me.
I cannot throw it at the enemy or in front on his path while retreating because he would just walk through it. Caltrops work better here since they are deployed immediately.
If I throw Cryogas Grenade in a room or room exit the enemy would just stay in the corner and wait until it's gone - Caltrops or classic grenades win again.
Am I wrong here? Please explain how to make use of Cryogas Grenades.

I mostly agree. However, there is one fight in particular where the long delay and long lasting nature of the gas cloud could be of use, and that is a certain fight in a certain warehouse with tight corridors and waves of enemies.
There may be places in the game where you would be able to chuck a grenade from stealth into a small room, then shut the door on a creature or lock it on human enemies so they are forced to stand around in the cloud. But I have yet to find such an encounter.
In general I don't feel they have as much utility as I hoped.

Use them out of combat. Just remember to stay out of enemy vision range.
Works with contaminated gas nades as well.

same here, tried it on Gerhard Page's room as well but he just stepped to the corner

hopefully Styg will add secondary attack on this grenade to make it explode immediately

Combat will not start.
If enemy is stationary he will get f**ked.

tried to throw gas and cryogenic grenades at the enemy path in out-of-combat mode before the combat start, worked pretty well
