NAGA Protector in your house
« on: October 05, 2023, 03:35:31 pm »
There is another suggestion that AEGIS should take the NAGA Protector with them.
Indeed, it’s a waste to leave it patrolling the beach of an empty island!

But why let AEGIS take it?

It would be better to have it patrol your house!

After all, if Core City Housing Corporation can pick up thing across all Underrail and install them in your house, they may pick up thing in the Black Sea. For a price…

Pretty sure Core City Housing Corporation is better suited at moving furniture between human settlements than at moving stuff out of a wyrm, pirate and mutated savage infested waters.

I agree, Black Sea got the wrong rep. Plus we hear the corporation is in much decline, too. One thing is Expedition made by rich and high tech Northerners, another is a poor "corporation" from the South.

Though this makes me wonder if there could be another thing possible to do with the Protector, given incoming expansion: the trailer explicitly mentions that having a team mate is now a thing. So, how about letting highly-skilled craftsmen (say, 200+ effective Hacking, Electronics and Mechanics all together while on the island) to reprogram the thing to follow and fight for player character? Could possibly transport it by towing some big-time ski with the Freighter, while having the Protector "loaded" into the former, too.

Now _that_ would be mighty nice, having "pacifist" / "mercantile" characters in mind. I betcha this is hella long shot, though, for balance reasons...

You'd need a big boat, the pedestrian elevators probably can't handle the weight, and the upper levels and your house probably can't either.

Not to mention that the thing won't even fit inside, it's like 4 meters high.

Wouldn't it self-destruct or go rampaging through the streets as soon as it detects it is in a (former) Biocorp location? That's probably also the reason Aegis doesn't risk taking it with them.
