Suggestions / Re: Under Rail 2 Kickstarter ?
« on: January 13, 2016, 12:29:34 pm »
They'd need a trustee living in US to handle the campaign money, unless Kickstarter has changed this recently.

I know some European game studios have used Kickstarter, but they all have had reliable contacts in the states.

Anyone in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, or Switzerland can start a project. (c/p from kickstarter)

Generally speaking I believe it goes like this:

Most things can go up to but not past 124 quality. Weapons, vests, metal plates, electronics etc.

Super Steel can go up to 160.

Infused Leather can go up to 202 if you consider the crafting formula for it, but that would require 124 quality leather AND 160 quality Super Steel fiber. I doubt that is plausible.

Note that I'm basing these statements on my own experience in the game in addition to information from the wiki and such.

I just found many things above 124 that arn't super steel related (shield, battery and many other stuff like that).

Have you met Al Fabet in Core City yet?  :P

Decent guy. Does not want to loot my stash in the barrel in the front of the merchant district.  8)
You can get a home in the residential district !

It should be useful when planning "trading" trips to sell some loot to know in advance the amount of cash you can earn from specific merchants.

Have you met Al Fabet in Core City yet?  :P

my observation was also that they have a fixed amount after every resupply, no matter how much you buy/sell.

The problem is that you have to do this if you want your shiny super steel metal armor :o

It's 160 for super steel plate, but i thing infused leather can go higher but only with high quality super steel fiber (near 160) and leather with like 100+ quality

A 106 leather from the ancient rathound near the rathound king turned to a 179 infused rathound leather with a 145 supersteel sheet. So yeah, it can go higher with some luck.

There's not much that can be done about the size at this point, but in the new save format epeli mentioned we'll archive the files so the saving won't take as long.

to quicken save, isn't it possible to double cgtemp and 'rename' the copy to the save ? It will induce a delay between two save but should be short :o. So only the last zone could have to be copied for the next save / zone transition.

Eh. 4 high quality SS Metal Armor takes hours of grinding to get, and completely obviates evade/dodge/stealth. Other end-game defenses could use a buff, but such buff should come in cost - to get godlike SS Metal Armor, you will burn 36k charons (on average). Getting a Very Good SS Metal Armor is less still going to be at least 18,000 charons.

Meanwhile an all q-120 tacvest/riotgear is not going to exceed 3,000 charons in component cost! A very good Infused Leather gearset >9,000 charons, but only because of supersteel variance and cost; clearly, there is a big disparity in the amount of grinding needed to get very high quality end game gear; a sane player should just get a full high quality TiChrome set with maybe 1 SS plate in the mix, it's not as beastly in terms of raw mitigation, but is still very hard to kill.

Bheu, all thoses charons just remember me having to do way to much travel between traders :/.

@Leosky

Traps, Crossbows, Throwing Knives and other Special Tactics style builds can be hilariously fun, flexible, and powerful. The problem is that mistakes with these builds can be brutally punishing.

The Heavy Armor/Assault Rifle/Crafting build has few weaknesses and fairly straightforward combat. Hell, once you have Heavy Metal Armor going, you could step in bear traps left and right. At ~90% Mech resist, you ignore both SMG and sniper rifle fire. Off the top of my head, I can't think of another build that can survive as much energy weapons fire .

I'm wondering about Heavy Armor. is that it may need a little nerf or other defenses need a buff ? :x

Traps are a bit underrated i think, espcialy for noobs. It allow to control the amount of mobs you get at once and with some trap management, you can even blow mobs in groups.

When traps are placed without management, most of the time, the explosion only hit the first opponent. But if you put a bear trap for exemple just before and the explosion trap, you are sure to hit at least two ennemy. It can be handy for a sniper build to control what get closer.

Power Management is also not the best choice if your main weapons are firearms.

Power Management is good if you rely on energy shield for defense but I agree with you for the other cases.

(sorry for bad english and the double post :x)

I don't how it is now but few time ago, Project Zomboid devs published tools to prerender things from 3d scenes and animations. This kind of tools could be great to help to do that and futher modding possibilities.

For the suggestion i dont think it's the game philosophy. Dual weiling is stupid at best / fatal at worst. Your off hand is too weak,  make you louse your stability and when you figth you show a side so your off hand is not well situated and move to contact to have reach just dissalow you evade parry properly. It an action movie things, praticaly, you look silly and you die for ever touch you could do and i don't even talk of impaling yourself on your enemy weapons. So you trade the ability to survive for a possibility to pass defenses with a weak weapon.

Bugs / [1.0.0.6] Interloper not working everytime
« on: December 30, 2015, 10:58:44 pm »
When you enter in combat when shooting something while being stealthy, the Interloper bonus doesn't work and you don't get the 15 mp. For exemple, when using Snipe, while being out of combat, you enter in combat without mp, but if you enter in combat manually, you've the bonus (and a sorter casting time :o).

(Sorry for my bad english)
