General / Another question!
« on: December 03, 2013, 03:32:59 pm »
I'm just kinda curious as to why you can't escape into a vent during combat? I had a devious master plan in the GMS station, where I would lure out the bandit leader and his henchpeople, and then use the vents to get over to the room with the hackable computer and bam, they're worm food.

I'd thought I was being super clever, but unfortunately it can't be done inside combat.

Suggestions / Re: Shroomhead alternative?

I'm not sure if I care much for that change, but I suppose it's because I've been working off of the infinitely renewable mindshroom system. Otherwise I just plain wouldn't have enough psi to go around, since I'm making those psi skills my primary method of combat (With crossbows on the side). That being said, it is pretty much what I had suggested, though I was more speaking of an alternative feat.

Discussions / Re: What do you play right now?

I just went through recently and played through the entire F.E.A.R. series, including the expansions for the first game, ad the one expansion for the second game. Beyond that, I've just gotten Underrail, and I've been playing a good amount of that.

On top of that, I've been playing LOTR: War in the North with my buddy, and have been trying to learn the new Might and Magic card game.

Suggestions / Shroomhead alternative?

Now I haven't been playing for a super long time, but every time I start a game I feel like playing a psi character, and on my first level up I get shroomhead because it seems like a no-brainer. Maybe there should be an alternative feat, that is mutually exclusive to Shroomhead as a different method of Psi renewal, so that Shroomhead doesn't seem such an obvious choice?

Maybe there already is and I'm just oblivious, but these are my two cents.

General / Re: Question about Security Bots!
« on: December 01, 2013, 08:27:46 pm »
I've managed to kill one in one fight, by starting the encounter out of its range, so that it will shoot but not stun me, and just shooting a bunch of regular bolts, as I haven't found the means to make electric bolts (or where to purchase them quite yet).

But I could be wrong, but when I was doing my hit-and-run, I'd fire a pyrokinesis shot at them, run and hide, and then refill at the shrooms. Next time I saw them (assuming it's the same one on the same patrol) they had max health, so I didn't have the means to whittle them down as I had initially planned.

EDIT: Actually, I've spotted one that's at half health, but I think that was from an earlier encounter where I threw the one grenade I'd found, and my fireball, but I can't say for sure whether or not he was the victim of my other plot.

General / Question about Security Bots!
« on: December 01, 2013, 08:06:32 pm »
So I've gotten Underrail recently, and I'm getting super into it (even though I'm not ACTUALLY that far into the game itself,) but I've been trying to face-off with these security bots (I think there's only two?) in GMS station*. Since all I have is my crossbow and psi powers, and there's a convenient pair of mindshrooms nearby with which I can regen some psi from, I thought I'd do the clever (and/or pragmatic thing) and do hit-and-run attacks with the psi fireball thing. It never occurred to me though, that they can regenerate!

So I suppose the question is, do they regenerate? And if so, does anybody have any suggestions for taking them out, now that I can't attack, then hide?

*(whoops, GMS COMPOUND I meant to say)
