Mutant questline bug

I'd like to finish the game as a mutant and after turning myself into one, getting to the Core City sewers and getting rid of the junk pile, I'm stuck on this screen. No matter what I choose, I can't free the hopper, nor can I eat it and there is no way to clear the blockade.

Thanks. I was able to get to Kharon. But now there are no any trap doors at Kirill's Lab. Tried with different characters.

Turns out the 1.2.0.0. really messed up the questline. Sorry for that. Fixed for the next patch. In the extreme case that the trapdoors still don't show up, try loading a previous save from before taking the acid bath.
