Suggestions / Hypo's and Merchants
« on: September 20, 2020, 04:50:14 pm »
I think Health Hypo items of all tiers should be treated like Ammo for selling purposes. This means that merchants that deal in those items are always looking to buy them, such as how mechanics merchants are always looking for batteries and weapons merchants are always looking for bullets. To me at least, it would make sense that people in the Underrail are always looking to buy these items while being more selective about the other medical items they are looking for.

So single shot shotty and the AR for rapid fire then. I can dig that.

What are the best Shotgun Frames? With other weapons its pretty easy for me to eyeball what will work best but shotguns seem like there are no standouts.

AR's and Shottys benefit from a lot of the same Perks too, don't they?

I'm trying to not to invest in other PSI disciplines to keep my psi costs down.

Suggestions / Throwing Knife QoL

I was playing around with Throwing Knives and thought they might work better as something you actually equip in your hands as a weapon, instead of the utility slot. That way, the attacks are more responsive and you don't have to wait for the "throwing" bar to fill up constantly each time you attack. You just toss them until you run out of stacks. You could also use the other hand to equip a different type of throwing knife and switch off between the two hands.

My apologies if this is the wrong section to post this.

I really like the Thought Control discipline for PSI but I have no idea what I want to pair it with. From what I have gathered so far, Thought Control abilities are low to mid ranged. So I'm not sure if I should try and take something long range to balance this out or if I should choose something that sticks to that threat range and rely on mobility to close with long distance targets.

So regarding cold and electric resistance, how much do you really need them? As you said electric resist is fairly rare but is electric damage common late game?

What kind of padding is typically used in Leather Armor, Metal Helments, and Boots?

Does anyone know if the Builder Tool takes into account difficulty level for things like Hit Points and so on?

Oddly enough running 3 schools minus metathermics has worked out well for me from a RP standpoint. I based my psyker on Olivia Dunham from Fringe and Thought Control, Psychokinesis, and Temp Manipulation fit her powers fairly well.

Sorry I should have clarified more. How is Cryostasis more or less useful than Temp Stasis?

As far as end game gear. What kind of carrier vest base do you recommend for the endgame?

Perhaps I need to take Thermodynamicity earlier then. On paper I liked Metathermics I just found myself using other abilities instead for stuns or better debuffs. Something I have learned from playing the game and restarting multiple times is that I'm not super into taking all four PSI disciplines for a PSI build. The current character I am using only has 3, and I'm using the points I would have invested in Metathermics to boost another skill. Perhaps its not the Metathermics I don't like but rather taking all 4 disciplines that's giving me issues.

I do wish the Metathermics feats were a little more impressive tho. I think Pyromania should make it to where Pyrokinesis leaves behind burning ground and the chance to set on fire should be baked into the ability.

How should I use the other Metathermics abilities? Like the Shield and the Shard Barrier?

I concede maybe I'm just not using it right.
Yup, that's pretty much it, right there.

I used your post on PSI builds to help me get started in the game. What am I missing about Metathermics? I often find myself in positions where I'm faced with the choice to spend PSI points on a Metathermics ability or something else and I often wind up getting more mileage out of the other ability. To be honest when going pure PSI I feel like I have TOO many options.
