Title: Hoppers - i can't catch the little buggers!!
Post by: doctoxic on March 16, 2015, 09:10:32 am
Hi all

Loving the game so far but am stumped on how to catch hoppers.

ANy tips greatly appreciated - they don't seem to ever get stuck in the holes as the wiki says and they don't stay in one place long enough to net or box them

cheers all

Hey, you need to press enter to manually enter combat, then throw the net from a utility slot :D

Additionally, if you have no throwing skill but do have crossbows skill, you might want to tranquilize them first, they have pretty insane evasion if you have 0 throwing.

That's it.  Stand there until a hopper comes up next to you.  Hit <enter> before he moves away. Even with my zero throwing skill I dropped a net on it and then used a box to capture him. Got 4-in-a-row that way and mission accomplished.  Easy when you know how.
LOL

Entering turn-based mode is generally a rather powerful exploit in this game. It can also be used to run past roaming enemies in stealth mode more easily, because you won't risk bumping into them, and you can cover more ground before they detect you.
