Title: Auto function in barter should use up SGS credits first in SGS
Post by: Wing on December 22, 2015, 08:38:40 pm
Seeing as how SGS credits are useless outside SGS(or at least have a crappy exchange rate), why is the auto function using up precious charons when I have excess SGS credits while in SGS?

If SGS credits are nickels, then Charons are dollar bills. Every sane vendor would prefer you to pay large sums in bills rather than change (even though in this case the roles of metal and paper are obviously reversed).

It may be more realistic, but as a game mechanic, it is simply annoying to the player. If SGS insists on using Monopoly money they could at least have the courtesy to accept it as a priority.

+1 from me, for this request.

Since SGS credit is main currency in SGS, it should take priority in there, especially since many other places do not accept SGS credit as main currency during barter.

Definitely.

SGS gives you SGS credits to ensure you spend them at home rather than taking your custom elsewhere. In which case, they should accept you doing business with them in SGS credits without having to shift-split your stacks manually to balance the trade.

And how would a merchant know what your character has in their wallet? As it is, the game assumes it is the character's preference to pay in charons, which makes little sense.

But buy now you can just drop Charons on ground.

Agree with OP and have some more ideas:

1. If trader have both SGS and Charons he should first give Charons

2. There should be digital info about total value of items in trade and difference between them. If I sell/buy lot's of stuff and trader haven't enough money it's very hard to calculate the difference and decide either buy more or sell less. And if sell less - what item to remove.
