Title: New print
Post by: Techno_Gangster on February 26, 2016, 09:21:07 am
I know that many people complained about small print and it changed. I want to complain about new print. It is no estetic, I think. This makes the game less beautiful. Who thinks like me?
Sorry for my english, I am russian.

I prefer the new print.

The old one was so awful, this one just needs slight re-sizing.

you're not the only one, several people already complained that they liked the old font more and would like to see an option to switch it back. it has more flavour than the new one so one can only hope they introduce a similar feature in one of the next updates.

The vocal minority will always be comprised mostly of complainers.

I GUARANTEE... the vast "silent" majority like it plenty. Old one has more flavor? It looks like 1999's matrix font, just awful.

Fun with fallacies: same argument could be applied to those who complained about the old font being hard to read.  :P

Re: Lets talk about font changes (http://underrail.com/forums/index.php?topic=2058)
I found the old font impossible at low (normal) size, and *just* usable at large size although certain GUI elements such as the crafting menu hadn't been tested with the larger size text.

I am very glad if the font has been reconsidered and improved (though I have yet to try it - my Windows machine died). I can appreciate that tiny text dedicates more screen area to game play, but I think that maybe can be engineered better by user controls for resolution and numeric font pitch.

But just to add, I feel like more people complained about the old font than the new one.

I'll admit the new one isn't perfect, it could use a slight re-size. But besides a re-size, I like the new font much better than the old one by a large margin.

Truth to be told, I haven't actually *seen* any complaints against old font, exempts as counter-complains, after this change has being done.

For me, subjectively, leaving aesthetics aside, new font is better readable for large font size, but much worse to read for small font size, especially on non-resizable menu elements, that can not be toggled to use larger fonts.

Just like console font should look on terminals.

Except for the fact that lots of text shows up outside of dialog boxes/terminals. This Font matches the whole of
Underrail much better imo. But the problem is, the new font is slightly too large on Normal sizing, and too small on
Small sizing. It needs to be resized imo.

Although he could just give us a choice in the options menu, and then everyone would be happy.  ;P
