According to the wiki you can reboot IRIS (http://www.underrail.com/wiki/index.php?title=IRIS) w/ effective hacking skill of 130. However I remember (pre-experimental patch) you need 130 BASE hacking skill for the reboot?
Would anyone confirm if you can do the reboot w/ 130 effective hacking skill? And if Huxkey affect this as well?

As of the current level cap, it is impossible to have more than base skill 115 in any skill.
As for the huxkey, I haven't tested it, but I believe that the huxkey is a combination lockpick, haxxor, and omni-tool. This means that it would not help for this hacking check.

Uh... what? No, the base skill cap is definitely 135. You can place 15 skill points into any given skill at level 1, and can improve it by a maximum of 5 skill points every level thereafter. Since the current level cap is 25, this gives you 24 opportunities after character creation to improve your skills by 5. Thus:
15 + (5 x 24) = 135

I misremembered. Apparently my brain does not think that things as insignificant as numbers are worth knowing.

I was under the impression that effective skill is the only thing that matters in hacking skill checks. For example, I'm certain I didn't have 110 base hacking skill when hacking the Oculus database clearance level 3 in my current playthrough, because my level wasn't high enough yet. Frankly it would be illogical if this wasn't the case in all hacking skill checks.
Edit: Is the base value of any skill actually even used for anything else than Feat requirements?

After thinking a bit I think I'm wrong with 130 BASE hacking to reboot IRIS, must be mad cow. Anyway I think it's actually 130 effective hacking without the aid of any hacking tool.
