Title: Stuck on the Quinton task with putrefying bolts? Help inside!

So you're stuck on this quest, huh?  What's your issue?

How do I use these putrefying bolts?
Open your inventory, drag the bolts to the top circle, left of your character's equipment.  It should then appear on the bottom of the screen.  You can then use it with the Q key or by clicking it.

How do I get the body tissue from the rathound?
Shoot a rathound with the putrefying bolt, then wait a bit.  The bolt will not kill it outright, but it does have to seep into the tissue.  Give it ten turns to be safe.  Just find a fence, keep your rathound buddy on the other side, and wait.  After that, kill it as you please.  It should yield remains with the body tissue.  Worked for me anyway.

I ran out of putrefying bolts.  What do I do?
Load the game.  If there are more of these bolts, I can't find them.

Thanks for compiling this, it did cause a lot of confusion.

Just one correction: it's actually enough to hit a rathound with that puterifying bolt once at it will drop it (EDIT: drop the tissue sample once it dies that is). If the loot is behind a wall, you can hold TAB or Z to display it.

Also you can press F1 (or click on the question mark in the upper right corner) to see the rest of the important hotkeys.

I was wondering what was going on because I used nothing but the bolts to down one and it didn't seem to leave a corpse.  Could have been hidden in a tight corridor.

Sorry for necroing, but my problem isn't listed. I've equipped the bolt, but don't I need a crossbow for shooting them? I mean my Q and W icons down right is all red(not usable), so it doesn't work..
Also I cannot seem to use bandages on myself at all, nothing happens..

On a side note.. These capca images make me furious, they are so bad, can't read any of them, barely made the account -.-

You need a crossbow to shoot the bolts.


And make sure your health isn't below 40%, you can only use bandages below 40% with the "doctor" feat.

You can get a free crossbow from the locker in the room you get the quest. With some stock bolts.
