Title: Questions about weapon components, damage, and weapon skill
Post by: harperfan7 on December 22, 2018, 07:49:26 pm
What is the damage range of a high-end plasma pistol?  I'm talking the best components you can find in DC or wherever.
What is the highest crit damage modifier you can get on such a gun via components?
Is the smart lens bonus the same with both goggles and as a weapon enhancement?

What is the formula for determining how much skill points and ability scores add to your damage?

You know, all of those questions are answered on the wiki.
Short version: 60-90; you don't get your good crit mod via components; no, for a given quality, goggles give a lower bonus; abilities don't directly boost weapon damage; Base Damage * (1 + 0.7 * Effective Guns Skill / 100)

I don't think most of that is on the wiki.

The damage itself doesn't matter inasmuch crit damage for the amplified version that was 450%+ (?). I used this as a sidearm when playing a SMG character, whenever Aimed Shot came up and there was only one enemy left.

Well, ability points does affect your damage directly - sledgehammers for example, there you get +10% for Str above 8.
