Near the compound there is a GMS facility titled "GMS gate w/o power" on the map. Since it was added to the map, I'm wondering if there is a way to power it, or if it's just another bit of flavor that has no purpose. With 1800+ hours in, I'm looking for little bits I've never unlocked or explored. Thanks!
-
what does GM stand for anyway? Grand metro?
-
Ah, the good old blockmen (singular - blockman, btw).
-
"GMS gate w/o power"? I think that's a note you added. It's one of three entrances to Omega Station. You can't get inside yet, but maybe one day in the far future.
Me? Or were you speaking to Styg? I haven't added any map notes myself. Anyway, thank you for the replies. This game has soooo many teasing, open, unsolved mysteries! If there is ever a sequel, I have a whole list of all the possible quest starters in the game that don't currently lead to anything.

I've seen it, it's west at a crossroad, if there were a direct link it would be north of the GMS compound from the Gorsky mission. I remember thinking that a battery might power it but the contextual icon was not there.
-
Now that I'm back home I can show you, the crossroads mentioned, the building with 'no power' and the location on the map (the cursor is over the area)
-
pics for ants
-
Can't upload the full ones, even the smallest one is over the limit for a single pic and I couldn't figure out how to reduce it further (I think it's 128kb per pic and the smallest was 190ish)
-
open them in paint, zoom out to where you want to be, then use either screencap or the snip tool, then upload that
-
Took a bit of work but you were right, cheers, had to remove the first pic (it was only the crossroads)
The warehouse and the cursor over the map location (in order)
-
Surely that region will open only after the endgame and will contain the super-powered Omega Tchort boss fight, for level 30 characters only.
-
That's the one. Somewhat satisfying I found something Epeli didn't kinow about ;)
EDIT: attached my own screenshot showing it's unique icon that appears on the map. That's why it caught my attention.

Sorry, I already knew the place. This is what I was wondering about:
... facility titled "GMS gate w/o power" on the map. Since it was added to the map, ...
I guess I took it too literally, but there's no place titled "GMS gate w/o power" on the map unless you made a custom note saying that.
Epeli, I'm looking at the tag in the tooltip, screenshot added to my most recent reply. I'm guessing that I'm using the wrong "language" in my ignorance of devspeak, but that's what it says. I have not added any notes to the map, although it's a great feature to have available.
-
You click on the electronic lock outside the gate, you get the message in red letters : "No Power".
Noone knows what lies within...
-
That is a player-written custom note, though. [...] Maybe you forgot about writing it...
This. You must have written that note and forgot you wrote it, because that is exactly what a player-made note looks like that. It even shows on the map that you made a note on that zone. You just forgot that you made it.
While we're on the subject of doors that can't be opened, are there any plans for us to access a certain corridor in a certain end-game location? A part of my brain is still convinced that if I keep pressing random keys eventually the gate will open. [joking]Maybe that's where the super-secret Siphoner Man superboss is located???[/joking]

Well, I have been known to sleepwalk... ;)
So weird, I have no memory of writing that. Kind of disturbing actually. I guess my excessive playing of this game has caused some gaps!
