So I went crossbows and traps. Just encountered my first metal armored enemy and I'm having some problems. How do I best deal with him? Most of my bolts barely do any damage.

Shock bolts, mainly. If you have opportunist, get them into a bear trap. Later on, bear trap + shock bolt MK 3 + anatomical super zephyr + critical power + opportunist + bowyer + elemental bolts + special tactics + sharpshooter + special attack goggles = dead tin cans.
edit: wow, I somehow forgot to mention the most important part: deadly snares

Long story short: use a Jackknife to apply Expose Weakness for like 5 AP.
To fight the final boss or other extremely armored enemies, get your critical hit chance as high as possible and spam elemental bolts from a Cyclone.

corrosive bolts especially

How do you guys deal with the poor accuracy?
Standing still and firing is okay, but you usually need to move around out of sight or you are toast, and then accuracy drops badly. I once tried to use a crossbow. Never again.

High detection, stealth, and traps. Fights should almost always start on your terms. Unless you're sniping an unaware opponent, your targets should be either stuck in traps or stunned. And then there's night vision, which you should always be using if it's even a little dark. Quick-tinkering makes a huge difference.

I would say the difference is such that you are bored to play that build at all after ome time - too easy.

Might be different now after a nerf. And I'd argue that crossbow really need traps because of how costly each miss is.

I think traps are so powerful that you can get by without QT.
Most intersting is to not use traps at all as crossbow guy.

Well, crossbow is pretty tough without deadly snares.
