Title: (Spoilers) A problem with our swashbuckling fellows

I have managed to get the pirates to release the professor under peaceful terms and have even bartered for free passage into their territory. However i cant seem to enter their port and if i go to where the ferryman is, i get immediately attacked. Is this intended?

(quick side note, can anyone point me in the direction of getting improved naval combat feat?)

Damn, i kinda dont want to progress the story till then. And does this mean i will be able to access the pirate port and be on friendly terms if i negotiate successfully.

As for azura. i mentioned IMPROVED naval combat, ladalman gives you normal naval combat feat.
