Title: unable to target enemy standing near door
Post by: screeg on September 05, 2013, 08:06:44 pm
Can't target an enemy when an open door is overlapping his position.

Possible solution:  have TAB force prioritizing of targets over interactive elements?

I have a screenshot for this but couldn't embed it:  http://min.us/lzoHuPuWjjG80 (http://min.us/lzoHuPuWjjG80)

I remember having this issue a couple of times. I think the solution is a bit more tricky then it would seem on account how the targeting is coded. I'll look into it again.

Btw, try using Z key instead of TAB, it should prioritize objects in reverse.

That's one thing I've noticed that as well, fighting the rat hounds and dogs can be a bit of a pixel hunt sometimes when you stand in front of the enemy.

I just had a similar problem on level 3 of the GMS compound.

I've noticed this as well, also happens with the mutant dogs in the depot.

There's also times where if you are standing in the doorway, you can't attack enemies who are diagonally in your line of sight, but they can attack you, this leads to total screw in aforementioned depot when the dogs root you where you can't attack them, but they can attack you.

It should be solved with a optional popup window on screen, with the list of all selectable characters.
The problem can be also with walking instead of interact with objects, it's quite important to have some buttons to force actions, like "force walk" "force-attack" "force-interact".
I have told a bit about this also in another post (http://underrail.com/forums/index.php?topic=671.0)
