Just bought the game after watching the videos and reading what others have said of the game. Sad to say, I seem to have run into an issue that I cannot find any threads for, so i am making this new one.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit - what happens is basically this. Game runs fine, click new game, i'm able to adjust attributes etc. All appears to work well until i try to enter character name. I click on this field, it changes to allow input and proceeds to accept NO characters into it. If i press shift, ctrl, alt, backspace, return, etc i hear a noise from the game but nothing changes in the field.
On top of this, i am not able to click on the Cancel button at this point.. What i have found i have to do is alt+tab out of the game and then back into it and i am able to click on entities again such as the cancel button and get out of the creation screen. Problem being here, since i cant input a character name, it wont let me start a new game so i'm not able to even begin playing.
I have read the other threads related to issues starting the game and i've tried running as administrator, full screen, windowed, etc etc -- nothing helps.

Are you using any non-Latin letters, such as Cyrillic?

nope -- standard american keyboard...

Hmm... that is weird. Do you have something in the background that might have potentially intercepted the input?

This was it -- I forgot i had synergy running as a service -- ended the synergy service and it is now able to get input.
