Title: Magnar Bug?

I managed to kill magnar via freezing him and shattering his whole body, but his ghost didn't appear. Is this the way it supposed to be? Did he still counts as "dead" for stopping the native's invasion?

As far as I'm aware you only need to kill human magnar for it to count towards taking out the natives
