Title: Did something happen with Ambush in the last few updates?

The last time i played was around the infamous PSI update.
I was running a versatility crossbow with laser pistol backup, relying heavily on ambush to great success, completed Normal/classic with ease and Hard mode was going easy as well.
Life happened and I stopped playing at level 28, halfway through Expedition.

After picking up my last save I Noticed something weird: Ambush didn't crit as much as I remember(which was always). Having 100 skill points and 215 effective and 27% weapon crit(with goggles) on my crossbow, it should bring  me to 111% it if Ambush would scale of effective stealth.
Later I realized that the feat specifies that it scales of skill points, so i upped my stealth to 135, that with focus stim gives me 102.5% but i still have plenty of non crit ambush procs.

I'm currently fighting handmaidens and strongmen, don't have any humans around to test.

robots have some innate crit reduction, due to being robot
