Aside from STRONG acid bolt crits xbows have a really hard time vs expedition crabs, plasma bolts could ease that a bit

Plasma is half heat, which they are resistant to.  Try throwing a plasma nade at them; it barely does anything.  The xbow tactic against crabs is using deadly snares or ambush, acid bolts, and crit stacking + elemental bolts.
