General / Re: System Tweaks to improve save time?
« on: February 21, 2019, 09:17:54 pm »
On a side note, I put 4 gigs of ram in my system today and it didn't speed up the save process.
Not a big deal, but on another note, what would be the thing that dictates the speed at which Underrail saves?
Hard disk speed? Processor?

Every so often I get to play Underrail on a PC with 16 gigs of ram and a 3ghz cpu. it saves in a blazing fast 5s.
The one that takes 30s to save has a 1.6ghz processor and 8gb ram.

Anyway, thanks!

General / System Tweaks to improve save time?

Currently, Underrail takes 30 seconds to save on my PC. Loading is a breeze though only taking about 5 seconds.
Is there anything I can do to my system (can't upgrade it) to reduce save time?
I really like Underrail and it's just a slight pain, I intend to keep playing.
Would be nice to do something about the save time though.
But all in all, thanks for a great experience devs.

General / At Core City before Gorsky thing, question re: Freq Mod Shields
« on: February 16, 2019, 04:28:45 pm »
I'm playing a heavy armor character (currently wearing Tungsten Metal) and have heard a little bit about xyz Frequency Modulator Shields.

Would it pay off to invest in one right now?
I've heard that for a heavy armor character the low frequency is the best route.
Thanks for any tips/pointers/advice!

General / Re: Sentry Bots and 200% threshold insulated vest

"I'm pretty sure it's an additional 200%, so it would be 9.  If you didn't have boots and/or a helmet the first time around, you either had a higher quality panel or maybe an armor plate in your vest.

edit: or you're playing on a higher difficulty"

Got it. I think I'll just put it aside and focus on enjoying the playthrough.

General / Sentry Bots and 200% threshold insulated vest

I might be remembering wrong, but in an earlier playthrough, when I hit the first sentry bots, I remember receiving mostly 0 damage.
During this playthrough my character is receiving 16 damage on average.
Now I read about damage threshhold and how given the 21%/3 value, the "reduces 200%" part of the insulated armor applies to the 3.
So only negating 6 damage makes sense.
I just don't understand how the damage reduction was so great on the other playthrough.
Thanks for the help!
