Builds / New Player

I recently started playing but I'm finding it difficult to make a effective min max build that doesn't lack to much in any category. more of the builds I've found on the forum are really unorthodox. I recognize that is fun and all but I want my first playthrough to allow me to experience as many of the game mechanics as I can. Any good build ideas?
