Bugs / Corrupted install?

This is a weird combo of bugs that I've tried fixing on and off for about a year now. When starting the game There's no music at the title screen and after a few minutes the game will freeze for a minute or two. Once I'm loading the game there is no loading screen, I only found out there was a loading screen because I bought the GOG version which had it. Once in game there's still no music and transitions between maps always takes minutes.
I've Reinstalled multiple times in both my hdd and ssd, ive looked for anything in appdata to delete, I confirmed that the music files are all in the right folder. My best guess is some file that works with this game is borked. Any suggestions welcome
