I just reinstalled the game and they work perfectly now, so if anyone has this problem in the future that seems to be the solution.

Yup, I've tried doing it from my quickbar and from my inventory, as you said. It's pretty weird.

I just finished Depot A and now have access to the TNT Charges used to clear out rocks in the tunnels. Whenever I try to plant one though, it does not get placed. My character does the animation for setting the charges and I lose one whenever I try, but nothing happens when my character is done planting. No charge appears on the ground and there is no explosion.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? I appreciate any answers.
