So apparently if you reload the autosave prior encountering the Ratking it reduces yout vision next to 0

Bugs / Leo is not spawning in his shack

Long story short, as I've entered deep caverns I found a knife to get a feat from Leo, but he wasn't there in his shack, so I've beat the last boss and before leaving I came back to his shack to look for him and he's still not there, and the locker is uninteractible
