Bugs / Epione Lab bug after joining Protectorate

If your character comes into contact with the guards stationed at Epione Lab, after speaking to them and then joining the protectorate afterwards and accepting the first quest for that location, the guards are still flagged as neutral and become hostile if you move deeper in the location.
You can still speak to the guard at the entrance with dialogue related to the quest but changes nothing towards your reputation with the guards at the location, effectively rendering you from completing their quest line.
