Builds / New player looking for advice for TC Knife and just general game advice

Hello everyone, as I have stated any and all advice like how much to level a skill unless you're doing X build that kind of thing just for future reference. Lastly, any pointers how to level/build a Knife with TC would be appreciated like gear, points and whatnot.
Anything at all would be appreciated.
