went with low expectations (because of an RPS review I had read)
At least now you know better than to trust RPS reviews.

Heh, indeed.

I kicked his ass without solving the mutagen puzzle!

Great game, but I have loads of lore related questionshttps://steamcommunity.com/app/250520/discussions/0/2150972948818883039/

Really enjoyed this game. Styg really put effort into creating an interesting game world. Looking forward to the next one!

No you can't befriend Faceless after accepting spying job.

You might want to change the title to something like Question re:final area (spoilers).

You're right - I've edited it. Thanks.

Is there no way to cheat this one? I'm just afraid it will obviously have an impact on the end game. Still on my first playthrough.

Also - I recognise your username. Thanks for the brilliant guide on Steam! I printed out several sections which I have been referring to :D

So, unfortunately I accepted a spying job for the Tchortists but only because I wanted to gather as much information as possible. When I go to the Faceless Commander he'll treat me as a spy and become hostile. I loaded an older save and I go straight to the Faceless Commander he'll see me as an ally. Unfortunately I have a few hours of play time that I don't want to lose by loading the old save game.

Is it possible to befriend the Commander by exploiting the game (after accepting the spyj ob from the Tchortists) - unless there is an in-game way to do it? I'm not actually a real Tchortist spy, but the Commander doesn't believe me :(

Seeing as how it's now filled with "ghosts", I researched online and found the following topics which others might find useful in case they have the same question as me:

Thanks. And what is the monolyth actually? Do we know how it came to be?

General / [Spoilers] Abyssal Station Zero)

I went down Abyssal Station Zero, retrieved the Acorn and ran away from black indestructible clouds coming out of the monolith. I obtained a feat which increased range of psi powers after inspecting said monolith.

I went back to camp, didn't give the Acorn to the Professor and kept the Acorn on me for the time being. From speaking to Aran, it's an object which can has power aid in creating other powerful objects (or something to that effect, he wasn't super helpful).

My question is - what was that monolith? It was slightly broken. From reading the information scattered around the facility, the Lemurians had found it somewhere and brought it to the facility. It must have affected the minds of the engineers, although the last piece of info I read was that they brought a flat grey disk to cut a piece off the monolith (which I assume they succeeded in, given that it is slightly broken). I know nothing else however.

Thanks!

You were right - obtained a 104q psi-beetle carapace. Crafted myself a regenerative vest! Thanks :D

For psi-builds without any melee combat, is it just a question of choosing what looks good? Any suggestions?

I only started playing Underrail a few weeks ago (although I've known about it nearly since its inception), went with low expectations (because of an RPS review I had read) and was pleasantly surprised. Although there are things I would personally change, it's managed to become one of my most played games in recent years (66 hours Steam playtime as of yesterday). Very interesting setting, great RPG combat mechanics, and actually interesting crafting mechanics - although I do tend to hoard and waste time from the actual gameplay.

Looking really forward to this new game! A definite purchase from me.

Yes that's true - I tried going after that Goliath (loaded the same save over 20 times) and couldn't get a carapace higher than 58. RNG is not on my side!  :D

The highest quality psi-beetle carapace I found is 58, can't seem to find any higher. For the psi-crab, I found 100+ on my first kill! I think i'll go with psi-beetle, but I will try to find a higher quality carapace. Quality is totally random, right?

I'm running a tranquility psi build, and was wondering which of the two you would choose to craft your armour? I obtained a high quality psi crab carapace, but the high armour penalty will stop me from moving around (and thus, less things to do per turn). Would like to hear your thoughts and preferences. Thanks!
