Not to be a dick but I wouldn't recommend getting games from Epic IF you care about keeping your games. If their servers fall then the games stop being yours because of DRM.

If possible, try getting everything via GOG. It's the best option, once again, if you care about keeping the games.

General / Re: What do you think the best OST track in Underrail is?

Grey Army base.

Hey hey people 8) !

I'll actually submit "DropZone" as one of my favorites. It has all the right tones: the urban beats and trip hop arrangements create this slightly feeling of uneasiness that makes it a truly special place for me when playing Underrail. It remind me a lot of Pathologic and that is always a good thing.

Paranoia
Stuffed Bat
Detrection goggles

With those you will not have many problems finding traps when you have 3 perception.

Yeah dude but that's something you learn to combo after probably 100 hours in-game. That's not something anyone's going to use when they first play the game because they don't know how food, goggles and feats even work. I would've never thought about picking paranoia for my first playthrough because I had no idea whatsoever this game had giant venomous scorpions that are invisible and neuter your ability to heal as soon as they attack... if they didn't manage to kill you once they come out of stealth.

This game is no fucking joke. It is still brilliant though, and I think creative, independent games should be supported in an environment of micro-transactions, season passes and labor abuse that is plaguing the videogame industry right now.

For Underrail: Infusion, however, the developers should think about ways to... smoothen... the difficulty of the game, or perhaps the learning curve. Perhaps characters can give you clearer advice. Perhaps you can learn easy or great strategies that everyone can do while playing a quest. Not everything has to be figured out after dying ten times in a single encounter.

Just want to comment Batman usually fight bare hand, use a lot of gadgets, intimidate and psyche/out think his opponents. If you really want to role play as rich boy in Underrail, the obvious route would be a bare fist build, use lots of combat utilities (throwing knives as batarang, flashbang, chemhaze nades, etc), obviously takes Intimidation skills (and Yell) + maybe TC: CC only - frighten, enrage, mental breakdown, Neurovisual Disruption) but not using any direct damage abilities (NO, bilocation, Psi-cognitive Interruption) as a "regular" peak human w/o super power is his thing.

It's funny you mention that because I went through a lot of the first game fighting unarmed and with the psionic power that enhances your fisticuffs !

I've thought about taking intimidation but it's a flavor choice to me. I like persuade and mercantile better. This is probably the first game I've ever played where "barter" isn't a complete waste of time.

The real question is, does styg hate dogs.

I'm a new here but I'll say... Underrail is not a friendly game to dogs :-X

*Casts resurrect on thread*

I've only played The Protectorate so far. I was totally down for The Protectorate for most of the game and the questline, since they seem to be a more organized institution and with a clear goal for South Underrail. I liked their ideals, liked the people and its approach. Everything was good so far, despite the clear prejudices and poor attitude of many of its members.

The real beauty of the questline of course, is when the Chemical Assault Unit appears. Once they enter the picture, everything The Protectorate and the United Stations supposedly stand for, completely falls apart in front of the player's eyes.

It was a great twist in my opinion. I imagine a similar type of disillusion awaits me when I go with the Free Drones.

Builds / Re: Trapper build?
« on: January 23, 2021, 03:53:10 am »
Complete noob here but for my first build i wanted to go for a trapper build, land mines and things like that. So far im thinking Str 5 Dex 9 Agi 5 Con 3 Per 5 Will 3 Int 10.Is this good stat pick, and any suggestions on how to play this build in this game or if its even viable.

Welcome to the forum buddy, I'm also new as well but I'm close to finishing my 1st playthrough. 170 hours and counting !

I'd recommend constitution on 5 at least. The game is a bit punishing and you may die a lot. It does however, have a learning curve.

The thing about traps is that they help a whole lot but are not enough. They are great support but you'll usually want a stronger source of damage to support yourself. Consider pairing your traps with guns, melee or throwing weapons. The idea should be to place traps, seek the enemy's attention and then let them either: stay locked on bear traps (poisonous even), get blown up with frag or high explosive (the former is better for unarmored and the latter for armored). However, this usually isn't enough because traps have limited damage output.

Traps are fantastic way to handle the worst motherfuckers in the entire game: death stalkers. If you don't have traps... damn.

Builds / Batman Build !
« on: January 23, 2021, 01:26:24 am »
Hello everyone, I hope you're having a wonderful 2021 (as much as possible). To begin my time in this beautiful forum, I'd like to ask your opinion on a build I'm planning for my 2nd playthrough. This "Batman build" is strictly for normal difficulty and it's one that also has a lot of flavor but which is generally what I like to play in most RPG's: stealth and persuasion while carrying a blade with a pistol and I'm your man for life. The reason why I probably named it as such was because it uses a lot of "gadgets" in combat, mainly grenades (I use the utility belt in this case).

Still, I'd love reading your recommendations. Thanks for allowing me to be in this cool forum for such a cool game. Love y'all.
