Suggestions / West Wing floor hole and aggro'd tchortists
« on: February 10, 2023, 02:51:18 pm »
It has come to my attention that if you flunk the interview to join the Institute, fight your way through tchortists and go to the hole in the floor in the West Wing (which leads to Upper Underrail) you can't actually jump down said hole to get out. It used to make sense in earlier versions since jumping down that hole would've softlocked the main quest before the alternate way in was added. But now that we have Utility Station 6 this restriction should be lifted. If there are concerns about players getting confused an additional prompt that suggests finding another way in could be added.

Tygrende made a great vid demonstrating the laser cats. It's glorious.

Use an SSD to boost your Dex further. Should help with the door if you're only 1 point short.

It seems to me like slapping what is effectively an electronic bomb to your bare fists would damage you as much as anything you're hitting, not to mention it probably wouldn't stick to living skin in the first place.

I see, I would appreciate if you could post or otherwise direct me to a proper AR build

I don´t have any specific requirements other than an optimal build that can handle most content.

Perhaps something like this? AR Tin Can
Is Conditioning too much since I will be wearing Tungsten Armor?
What should I spend the remaining feats on?

https://underrail.info/build/?HgkDAwoMAwbCoG0AAAAAAGVsAADCoMKgV2NsAAAAAAAAditjOyYVSghJMUsnVcK1wqQOw4zCreKfogXip7QK378

Or should I go AGI and try to keep distance, while wearing equipment that enhances critical chance?

Also, one of the main complaints about Tin Can AR seems to be that it´s boring.

What are some other alternative builds that are considered more "fun" to play? I understand that fun is subjective, so perhaps we should talk about more "complex" rather than "fun".
The build is fine. I would drop Recklessness and Pack Rathound and replace Doctor with Fast Metabolism. There's no overkill in tanking, so Conditioning is a very good pick.

SMG builds are fine, nothing changed about them outside of reworked uniques being more interesting now. Said lack of change is probably why people don't post them much anymore as there's nothing new to say.
The build seems alright, but there isn't much synergy between TC and AR. ARs in general shred absolutely everything with ease. With 3 CON and AGI you won't be able to maneuver or tank much, so you'd mostly be engaging opponents at longer ranges, denying you the opportunity to use your TC abilities.
I'd drop Expertise, though, ARs are better built for crits instead.

Muties in Abandoned Waterways Facility and Protectorate Shock troops use EMPs, plus there are a few other enemies that do it too.

You can, but if you just installed the expansion you'd be missing A LOT of stuff it adds throughout the entire game. I would suggest starting a new game and using one of the new weapons to spice things up. But as Barry said, you can still join the Expedition after DC, and there are a few advantages to doing things in that order. At level 23 you'd be somewhat overleveled, but not too much, especially for the first time you visit Black Sea.

Yes, I solved all 3 puzzles by myself. Mutagen and music ones are completely explained in the game (even if the latter's explanation is exceedingly flowery), and Dude's lab puzzle just takes a bit of perceptiveness to spot the patterns. Plus I think now there's even a skill check that provides a very explicit hint, either INT or PER.

Viable? Absoutely anything. If a pre-buff crowbar is viable then anything else is.
