General / Copy of Underrail Given Away With Wasteland 3!?

https://www.fig.co/campaigns/wasteland-3#about

Check this out, Underrail is being offered for free if you pledge more than $20 to Wasteland 3 in the first 48 hours. Obviously, if you're on this forum you probably already have Underrail, but it is very interesting to me that Styg and Fargo must have communicated in some capacity. I wonder how much they talked? I wonder about what? Just offering Underrail as a bonus for W3 backers? Maybe more?

We can speculate wildly that Fargo was like "Hey Styg, you are one of us now. You and your team can come use our facilities and resources to make your next game."

@epeli, I sincerely hope you're right and I still have hope, it's just been so long. The little time I spent with the game was amazing, but I've been feeling lately like it's just never going to happen. I'm willing to pay for it, so there must be other people that want to pay for it, so according to Adam Smith the invisible hand of the market should just make it exist haha. :)

Great to see an update, bummed that it seems to have nothing to do with porting to Mac or Linux. Based on the fact that they're waiting for art for a big media reveal, I assume it's an expansion or a new game. Excited that they're working on new stuff, wish they would take more of my money and port to mac.

Nos, would you be willing to provide a step-by-step wine tutorial for this game? As you're aware, myself and several other players have been begging for Styg and his team to port to Mac/Linux for forever (there are tons of solutions, it's not that hard and most of us are willing to give them money to do it, to no avail) and it's still super unlikely we will ever see it happen. I've offered to pay for someone to just figure out how to make the wineskin work properly and put it up for download or write a detailed tutorial. I backed this game way back in the Desura days and have only played it for maybe an hour or two here and there on my girlfriend's laptop. Hook us up and I'll be happy to Paypal you some cash.

I sincerely hope the new update is mac/linux compatibility. I backed the game back in the Desura days, and had a lot of fun with it way back with the early builds, but I've moved on from PC and am looking forward to eventually being able to play the final build. There were some great suggestions on Steam for other studios that can update and migrate the game to a more universal build for you, and you'll make more money. Mac + Linux Build = Mac + Linux User money. There should at the very least be a Styg-approved Wine Wrapper, or something. You could even charge for that. I would happily pay five or ten bucks for a wine wrapper or emulation system where everything's already set up and I can just install my PC copy of Underrail into it. Before anyone makes any suggestions, I do not want to partition my hard drive, or run windows on my mac, or do any real work, and I don't think I should have to. I just want to pay money for a quick solution to play this game on Mac. There are many others like me. Hopefully this update will address this issue and we can happily give you more of our money.
