Other Games / Fire Emblem: Engage - [Releasing 20/1/2023]
« on: January 07, 2023, 11:23:33 am »
Greetings, Underrail Community!

When I think about 'Turn Based Combat', I think about Fire Emblem: 3 Houses (2019), a turn based combat strategy game which is main entry number 16 in the Fire Emblem Franchise. I've spent a very significant amount of time in that game, and got very invested in it's world, because I thought it's world was super interesting: with bloodlines, nobles and commoners, an ancient race of dragonlike creatures who can shapeshift into human form, a dramatic twist in the story, special weapons tied to Crests, the latter of which are passed down through bloodlines, colorful personalities, and beautiful music. Meanwhile, what also kept me going back into that world, was it's high difficulty mode. The challenge of clearing the stages with highly difficult conditions kept me returning to the game over and over again.

Main entry number 17, Fire Emblem Engage (2023), is releasing 20/1/2023, and I've been, casually/partially enthusiastically, keeping up with news from the official Fire Emblem Japan Twitter. With less than two weeks to release day, I'd like to ask: Is there anyone here who is also looking forward to the release of the new game, or have played 3 Houses before?

If I recall correctly, this scene was after the professor had been kidnapped. See photo for more context.

I'm not entirely sure, but is 'Recovery Team Alpha back in the camp' also a trigger for the professor's kidnapping, besides 'resting in the bed'?

[1] As I remember, the player has to find their own way through the sewers. This part should be: I'll explain everything when we get there.

[2] Oh, we did relieve some poor wimp of his little toy.

[3] To avoid confusion, it should be 'stun', as there is a 'daze' status effect as well.

[4] universally, missing an 'L'

[5] Odd dialogue response.

About the special investigation belt...

In my experience, after speaking to Eiden and specifying that I wish to join the Department of Genetics, I received the Bioinvestigative Belt from a named NPC, can't recall her name, at the junction leading to the three investigation departments. The dialogue does not automatically trigger, though.

Give that a try, let me know if it works.

[2] The things I hear from you have stopped sounding strange a long time ago; what is strange is that we've actually reached that point.
Regarding 'that point', I believe it is referring to 'the point that the player finds that the things Dude says have stopped sounding strange'.
[3] deeper into the mine

Some dialogue in game that I think could use a little change.

[1] I think a better wording would be:
"Gene told me you are an Underrail Express train operator."
As it is consistent with how Gene had told the player.

[2] If I remember correctly, even after the player has been assigned by either the Preservation Forces or the Department of Physics to do some work in the West Wing, the only response the player has to end the conversation with after asking why the West Wing is dangerous, is:

"I'll go where it's safe. Goodbye, sister."

Could use some additional dialogue if the player has already been assigned to do some work in the West Wing.

[3] I found this part a little odd. Since this is the first time that the player has visited the Free Drones Base after being recruited, I think that the way Hutch would say it, would be:

[...] you'll run straight into Becket, our supplier. You can get a lot of good stuff from him, but more about that later. A bit further to the left is our medical office. [...]

[4] If I recall correctly, this is the first time that Todor Sallywatch's name is mentioned. But even without hearing his full name, when the player inquires about him to Everard, the player says: "About Todor Sallywatch..."

Mentioning Todor Sallywatch's full name in the spot shown in [4] should do the trick.

[1] I feel like another patient...
I think the past tense is correct in that instance, although the 'a' is indeed pointless here

Edited the original post.

Bugs / The Crucible: Some minor visual 'overlaps'
« on: March 18, 2022, 12:43:58 pm »
I've noticed some strange moments when a character is walking around The Crucible,
Specific spots shown in images below.

For image [3], the spot is where the mouse cursor is pointing.
