So, until the patch, if you attacked unarmed, it added the values from boots and armour?
Well, aside the nasty side effects, that was actually nice in circumventing damage resistance.
Which is one of the biggest weak points of unarmed.

It added the damage from the boots to the armor permanently.

Development Log / Dev Log #18: Lower Underrail and Mad Hattering

I'm currently in the process of building the Lower Underrail.



For those who don't know the Lower Underrail was the industrial/military zone of the big underground metro system before things went to hell, as opposed to the Upper Underrail which was the residential zone.

I have it mapped out on paper and am now going through each zone and constructing it in the editor. It's a lot of work without much to report so bear with me as I grind through it. At first, there won't be any quests or special points of interest (just containers, monsters, bandits, traps, and that stuff), until later I start adding the stations, dungeons and occasional random encounter. The metro train is also on the way. It will be connecting the aforementioned stations.

In other news, I've added psionic headbands to the game along with blueprint and components required to make them (creating them will require electronics and a bit of biology). These headbands can enhance one of the three psionic schools, but there are also universal ones that enhance all three (though those are generally weaker). Depending on what components are used, they can increase skill levels, critical chances, critical modifiers, and psi costs. I will add more components in the future that will have other effects or have greater effects (per quality) but with certain drawbacks.

Ah so it could well be that my skill is not quite high enough to receive the trap. Thanks for the reply Styg.

If you get around to testing it, let me know if it works (I remember testing it vaguely way back when implementing it).

You can't actually see the difficulty modifier of the trap, but just leave one trap alive till you finish the game and then go back and disarm it when you're very higher level and see if it works.

- There's no way to just take a screenshot atm. When you save the game it creates one though and puts it in the save game folder.

- There's no cooking in the game.

- It only counts the base skill level (without modifiers). This also applies to feat requirements.

Fixed it. The bug was twofold actually and it only occurred when you had two items that give extra melee damage (armor + boots).

First, it stacked the damage even though it should function separately (one is unarmed only, the other is for any melee). And secondly, it stacked them on the armor item instead in temporary memory so as the time went on and the game had to recalculate your bonuses and stuff it kept stacking.

Enjoy your armors of doom until the patch. ;)

I will look into the bugs you've mentioned. As for the rest:

- Import/export is a metagame feature. If someone wants to use/abuse it for whatever reason they are free to. As you said there's only one campaign right now and it doesn't serve the purpose of preserving your character through continuing story. Might change in the future.

- When badly damaged, items don't give any positive bonuses. So for example, the goggles won't give you perception bonus.

- Conditioning does not increase resistances, it just reduces the final amount of damage (once it gets past the resistances and thresholds) by said amount. It's not the same thing and it's not listed anywhere except in the feat's description.

- Damaged weapons have reduced precision, not damage.

If your disarm skill is 20 points above the trap disarming difficulty (or if the trap is your own) you should receive it.

All of these are intentional.

I might reconsider number 2, but I think requiring the player to move away to a secure location before patching up isn't unreasonable.
