Suggestions / Re: PSI Crafting
« on: April 04, 2013, 03:57:05 pm »
Being able to modify the psi abilities like in PoE would be awesome I admit, but it won't be implemented. There will be more feats introduced in the future that will augment specific psi abilities or groups of psi abilities either passively or temporarily through activated skills such as Locus of Control and Premeditation.

Psi specialization is something I have in mind when designing new feats.

I found the easiest way to kill him is using a knife to quickly stab him down (you get lots of chances due to low AP cost).

Personally I prefer a single "cut throat" when playing a knife build. :)

Will need to get a new one.
OK. Thank you.

Your avatar... Is it in-game animation? :)

Yes, but that robot isn't in the game yet. :)

General / Re: Armor question
« on: April 03, 2013, 03:28:25 am »
The percentage is damage resistance (DR) and the flat number is damage threshold (DT).

When you take damage, the armor will either reduce it by the amount specified by the damage resistance or by the flat amount specified by the threshold, whichever is greater (not both).

So more DT is better against faster attacks that deal less damage (such as SMGs, knife attacks, etc), while more DR is better against heavy attacks (snipers, sledgehammers, etc).

In your particular case there's another modifier in the equation: tactical vests have their DT increased by 200% (tripled) against firearms. So they are hard to penetrate with firearms, especially when augmented with anti-rifle plates. On the flip side, they have lower DR and generally lower base DT (when not multiplied) so they are not as good versus other types of attack.

Hope this clears it up.

General / Re: The Value of Base stats
« on: April 03, 2013, 03:17:14 am »
Unless you can get agility up to 6 for the sprint feat, I wouldn't bother because the encumbrance basically reduces all agility based stats (dodge, evasion, movement, stealth). And in the case of metal armor, it almost negates them completely.

You can kill him however you like while he travels between the rooms just as long as no one sees you. Traps are indeed the easiest way if you have the necessary skill.

I don't really see this as a problem. Are you just running through all the questions and answers without reading them and just want to know when you've exhausted the entire dialog with a given character?

A journal would be nice, I admit, but there's more important stuff for me to work on.

I wouldn't worry about dexterity in your particular build, but the 3 is the minimum stat value for player characters.

Encumbrance is applied last (with exception of sprint bonus which is always applied on top and ignores encumbrance) and it reduces your max movement points by the specified amount.

Yeah, the old haxxors won't work because you can't recharge them. Will need to get a new one.

1) If an item is in poor condition, it requires more action points to fire (think a semi-automatic weapon that is no longer self-clearing its expended cartridge) and/or it is less accurate (think sticky trigger pull).

That's actually how it works.

« on: March 29, 2013, 04:06:16 pm »
I'll look further into this and probably tweak degradation rate a bit in the next patch. It wasn't meant to be as hard as you guys report it is to keep your weapon in shape.

The primary goal of this mechanic is to make the most weapons you find heavily degraded so you couldn't sell them for a fortune, while still allowing you to keep and repairs the ones you want to use.

There is similar kickstarter about turn based RPG: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1604283933/the-dark-triad-dragons-death/ sadly it was cancelled because there wasn't enough support.

Hmm, I'm guessing they didn't get enough media coverage. This looks pretty legit. I hope they manage to finish the game despite the Kickstarter failure.

Path of Exile.

If you were a fan of Diablo 2, I can highly recommend it.
