Hi guys,

We're slowly wrapping up the work on the next content update for Underrail. This one is going to be mostly oriented towards the water areas in terms of content, and, as hinted before, will also feature mechanical changes to psi. It's coming soontm and I don't really have anything more to say about it until it arrives, so instead I'll show you something cool that we've made for Infusion.



We're developing a particle system for the updated engine that will allow us to quickly make nice looking and varied effects. Besides being an upgrade to the previous system visually, the more important aspect of it is that it will allow me to more easily add new psi, special, and item abilities, because now I can quickly make effects for those, which was the most tasking part of the process. Also, the level designers will be able to use the new system to further customize the areas and really bring the environment to life.

Speaking of which, we now have an additional team member working full time on level and quest design, as well as writing, so we're going to be able to produce more content faster in the future. We're planning on at least one more major content update after this one, but, of course, at some point we're going to have to focus more on Infusion.

Yes.

The price is not being randomized right now, I think, though it probably should be to reflect the power of individual items. I'll get to that eventually.

The difference in price you see now is probably only due to current durability factor. (1200 / 1230 = 0.97 vs 1200 / 1320 = 0.9).

Seems that the tentacles were causing the bug. Fixed for the next update.

For now I'm afraid you might have to kill them all off in one go without breaking combat.\

EDIT: Actually, it seems only the caster tentacles do this, so if you might be able reenter the area enough times to get a favorable tentacle setup... if this works, I don't remember if I preempted it.

Took 3 tries for me to get it to crash and I've found the bug and fixed it for the next update.

Try reentering a number of times until you make it. All those caltrops and gas are messing and slowing down the game terribly on that map.

It seems to be related to animation. Can you upload the save for me to check out? If not, do you at least recall what armor and weapon you were using?
Do you have emails I can send the saves to? I don't have a Dropbox account.

For armor and weapons, it was a psi headband, Phantom Dancer, lifting belt, black tabi boots, and I also had Sormirbaered Spirit-Staff and Powerfist.

It does have turbo.

I said so in the edit.  Even with turbo, it's still the same or worse in every way except for the phaser's glowing.  Were it me, I'd maybe drop the blazer's price to 15k or raise the phaser's to 18k.
Ok. I plan to rework the prices anyway, so I'll keep that in mind.

Weapon on hit effects typically do not interact feat on hit effects. Basically they are executed in two separate pieces of code that cannot directly interact with each other. Not ideal, but it is what it is, and I'd rather write the whole game from scratch than refactor the combat engine...
