Fixed the console and the laptop. The laptop will no longer be usable, while the console will display a "no power" pop-up line when used, 'cause, well, some will figure out its purpose. :D

We're here. Someone on steam forums just recently reported the same issue, and it is due to (as epeli described) the guards entering the house after hearing the gunshots. The door protection was not properly set, so if a commoner sees anyone opening the door, the whole faction becomes hostile to the perpetrator, just like it would to the player. Hence a civil war.

Now, drop us your save (Dropbox or Google Drive or similar is best) and I'll see what I can do. Gary is definitely more important than it might initially appear, but his loss should only affect the Arena. And sorry for the late response.

Duff and his girls do not appear in that zone until you receive the quest from Harlan, so there is no way for you to kill him beforehand. You did kill one of the two zoners which occupy the area where Duff's gang spawns, though, and that's what caused the crash, as there was a bug in the code which evicted the two zoners from their homes so that Duff can watch his match in peace.

The bug has been fixed for the next patch, and I've made a save for you just after entering the zone so that you can continue with the game. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/68685216/DuffsZone.rar

Sorry for the late response, but the bug has been fixed for the next patch. Thanks, fledersaft, for pointing out the cause of the crash. :)

Hmmm... I did some quick testing with several saves and he does not appear, as was intended. Could you post yours so I could check it out?

There are many many such "unmarked containers" in the game.

I've screen-shotted a whole lot of them (every one I've found; which is 18 so far, including in DC).

At first I considered reporting them as a bug - but after finding more and more, decided I like them as a "feature" (as a reward for the observant player, even though most of them contain "average" loot - but some do contain good loot and/or an Oddity).

So.. I've never reported them.

Only the devs could say for sure they are a bug or a feature - but I like thinking of them as a feature.

Pretty much this. While there are a lot of unintentionally unmarked containers in the game, if you find one in a more secluded spot and it holds an oddity or something nice, then you can be pretty sure that's intended. :D Still, do report those that seem like they should be named, as some of the unintended ones could also turn out to be respawning their contents and worst of all... devour your stored loot if you leave the map! *thunder*

It's a bug. Sometimes characters react to your failed attempts at persuasion/intimidation with hostility. "Attack!" is most often used when you have a choice to initiate combat, while "Fight!" is used when combat is unavoidable, like in this instance, so you can use that as a guide.

Fixed for the next patch.

We found what caused the issue with the elevator. Fixed for the next patch. :)

Bugs / Re: Black Eels hostile after SRO assault (spoilers)

Yes, Fort Apogee being hostile to the player is intended.

Currently, the Protectorate forces inside the embassy will be hostile to you the moment you attack SRO. However, they retreat inside and fortify their positions only after you turn in the quest, so when you return you'll see that the Free Drones guarding SRO and that the elevator has now been sealed (making the Junkyard the only entrance to the embassy, as you said).

I like the suggestion about the elevator becoming powered off, more so because it has given me some other ideas which might spice things up a bit more. But I'd rather not reveal or promise anything. I'll just mark this down and wait for the right time. :)

We're taking a look at it, but in any case, you're not supposed to leave the Institute during the invasion or if you're hostile with the Tchortists, as there's currently no way for you to get back into the Institute in such cases. So it's a bug since leaving = broken main quest. Fixed that, but we'll still be taking a look at the elevator bug.

That one destructible rock is not supposed to be destructible at all, actually; it even respawns if you blow it up :D Removed.

As for the vents, Styg's taking a look at it.

Bugs / Re: Port Zenith quest bug?
« on: April 04, 2016, 09:53:26 am »
Well, if you try to intimate him and fail, he will refuse to speak with you from that point on, so technically it is intended. But, since you can't brute force this mission from outside (the warehouse doors cannot be lockpicked or unlocked with a key), and you could be short on other skills, we'll change the superintendent to react differently to your intimidation attempts. Will also try to tweak some other things in order to give the player some more room to deal with this quest.

The hostility is a bug and has just been fixed but will most likely not be released with this patch as it's already in the testing phase. Also, attacking Epione Lab will cause Fort Apogee to turn hostile, but Port Zenith will remain neutral.
