The area where the Mind Cracker's stored is off limits and if you're caught there the entire institute turns hostile. The only way to it would be to enter the facility before the invasion in stealth to get it. I've never tried, but I'm sure it's a pain.

I think Plasma Walkers are fair game in Rail Crossing. You can kill them without consequence.

You have to kill all the mushrooms near you. No way around it, but once you kill the pulsating root the mushroom turretswill never regenerate thankfully. Once they're all dead and you're out of combat, you'll be allowed to climb up the exit. Heal first because more turrets will be waiting above.

Regardless of the semantics about how Suppressing Fire works in the real world, its effect work as a slow debuff in the game and so it should trigger Opportunist.

It's disappointing to see that there isn't an option that opens you up to completing the Junkyard dispute between the Eels and Scrappers by aligning with the Free Drones after you clear out the SRO. The FD leader even says that he'll send a delegate to JUnkyard, but nothing more becomes of that. There's also no acknowledgement that the assualt has taken place by anyone in Junkyard, especially Silas who still mentions the Protectorate as a viable ally. I guess that for any body to even try something like this it would take lots of meta knowledge, but it sucks to not see anything become of attempting this coarse of action.

I feel you on various levels apart from the Suppressing Fire bit. Let's not fix Gunslinger and call it a tie.

It depends on want kind of buffs you want. Tabis do not increase armor penalty. Defense stats are inferior to boots in terms resistances and a lack of threshold. You also get a slight increase in your chance to get critically hit. To compensate they all give you an increase in dodge, evasion, movement points and the previously mentioned 1 point reduction for melee weapons. If you want to get the most of out of Tabi Boots you might have to craft them yourself because most variants won't even be available to you.

I can't quite remember what the exact change was, but reduction of AP for all light weapons for characters with high dexterity was nerfed in a recent patch. You can see what the current values are on the wiki table here: http://www.underrail.com/wiki/index.php?title=Dexterity
Whatever info you're working off of is outdated. Based on what you posted, It doesn't seem like you're using Tabi Boots. They Knock off 1 AP as well.

Maybe an ironman run is the best way to get back into the spirit of playing this game, at least for the sake of retelling wacky death stories. The only thing that ever came close to that is getting blow to pieces by a mine because I placed a trap on the exact same tile it was on. My character never detected the mine until it was too late.

For the record, Tabi boots were updated to have their Movement Speed dependent on cloth quality. High quality infused leather sets can reach into the 30% as well.
