You can kill Tanner in game. this is not something that is completely impossible.
The only way to kill him in the current version of the game (that I know of at least) is by abusing corrosive acid with an imported character. Definitely not canon.

That is not true. There are alternative methods, but much more difficult.

Eh, what the heck. I will share it now.

Tanner's immortality is not permanent as it seems. It can be broken. After like 50~65 hits or something(I used SMG with highest damage build and used full auto every turn), his invulnerability will be broken and he can be harmed(which makes sense lore-wise, considering that this doesn't work on Six therefore making Tanner weaker). I should test more on this later.

The skill calculation of the underrail prevents most remnants. Every time you change your stat for example(there are other conditions that reset stats) your entire skill sets will be recalculated.

Unless you directly change the skill values(or stats influencing them) or skill calculation method(it happened once to me), it probably won't change?

What do you mean it doesn't always re-pack? It should blindly pack anything that isn't an underrail archive, whether it's valid underrail data or not.

It does only one very simple thing as advertised: unpacking or repacking Underrail files. It does not undo/redo their serialization. The unpacked files are MS-NRBF binary data and thus not easily modifiable as is. Editing the unpacked data is the finicky part. :P

Also, the files packed by my tool are not byte-for-byte identical with those created by underrail.exe, but they are compatible. This is intentional.

I have observed that sometimes packing doesn't... do anything. It will say that packing is complete but when you download it, the file will have 0 size.

Cool, thank you very much for making this.

Is there any way to modify the dialogues? For that matter, can the .k files in the knowledge directory be read/modified? I can't find any information on this anywhere.

Modification of dialogue is possible, but as far as I know it must follow the correct rules(main limitation being it must have same number of characters before and after the change). Translators seems to know the method to bypass this, so I'd suggest asking them.

.k files can be read for sure... Underrail unpacker, as pinned on the front page ( http://underrail.com/forums/index.php?topic=2753.0 ) has capability to un-pack .k files into readable format. (it can then be read with notepad)

Modifying them, now that is trickier. Unpacker is finicky at the best of times and it doesn't always re-pack. Even after packing it may not work correctly.

It is highly unlikely that Eldein being only successful specimen. Didn't Tchortist have some other unit of newly bio-engineered unit? The name escapes me for a moment... (they look more buffed than heavily armored compared to normal Tchortists)

It should be noted that most tchortists have similar masks, especially those bio-engineered unit. I can guess how it looks inside.

It is most likely that they have been experimenting with the Tchort genes. New bio solders - gene mods are their end products, Eldein is another. Rejects are merely the means to an end.

I have to know: is it possible to kill Six with that gas grenade bug? If I read the text in those images correctly, it looks like it was dealing damage to him. >:D

He resisted each tick of damage in full so unfortunately no. 
Though I'm unsure of the version, Sanger and hilf found that you can kill Six with the chemical fire pistol.

Ah, killing an invincible character. I know of few ways of kill tanner.(as of 1.0.2.4)

I just need to test it on the six...

After an hour of testing, I must admit that I could not add the talent.

It seems that this particular bug only applies when attempting to add the critical power feat. Very odd. I replaced full auto with other feats and they will usually work. I can replace any feats you have with critical power and it will break.

Another bug that I have discovered is that feats that adds new ability, like premonition or dirty kick will break the character. cheat-added ability won't show up in the quick bar, rendering cheat useless.

I was unable to download from both torrents because I could not get seed connections. Sorry.

De-leveling requires history of leveling. An old game, Neverwinter night had something like that. At level 1 -> 2, you leveled stat x,y,z and a feat.

I have not found any indication of the history of leveling within the save file for the UR. I assume that aside from total reset(which would be still be very difficult if possible), there are no other options.

Generally speaking, adding things are easy with cheating. Removing however requires effort.

Kilgore Trout, when you modified the file yourself, did you use a text editor (like Notepad, notepad ++, etc.), or a HEXADECIMAL editor ? (displaying series of two characters, like '8F 2C EA 87 A8' ?)

Because, if you used a TEXT editor, considering that the feat name had a NEWLINE character in it (and that the NEWLINE is treated differently whether you're on a MAC, Windows, or Linux system), that's likely your problem, here. So, I'd advise you to use a HEXADECIMAL editor instead, in order to change precisely the values to those needed.

The "NEWLINE" character is value 0A, and lower-case letters will be 61 (for 'a') to 7A (for 'z').

It probably wasn't the main issue, because when I modified the Kilgore's global.dat by myself it did not resolve the issue.

Hi Reinhark,

First of all, thanks as always. So I copied the global file you edited over to the appropriate save game and was met with the same result. "Failed to load save game". Such is life I guess.

But then, I tried something else. I opened the original global.dat file and replaced "fullauto" with one of the other feats you kindly provided in your feat list. After this I repacked/renamed and copied the file in the appropriate save game. I got exactly the same result "Failed to load save game".

I scratching my head trying to think of different scenarios to get around this, but have literally no clue whether any of them will work. Anyway, I'll try and some of my ideas and see what happens.
