You don't need any DEX - you can take Point Shot.
Which requires 6 DEX, so he does need some.

And they OMGWTFPWN pistols. More damage for less AP and burt fire option.

On my pistol build i stopped using SMGs at lvl 16. And not because they were weak but because "I've gotta finally stop using SMGs on this pistol build, tchortdammit!" reasoning.
I feel like the second weapon slot should be reserved to one-handed weapons only. That way knives and pistols would actually fill a role of proper backup weapons.

The tchortist elevator got stuck, it's the one you were in, don't you remember?

There is another one to the South, near a burrower-infested building.

I finished the game as a sniper twice, with pistols as a backup and my favourite is 9mm Neo Luger with rapid reloader and laser sight.

It's just the most reliable option, and you will be using your backup in situations where reliability counts the most. I think SMGs are stronger overall though.

You are in luck, I did a small table on that.

In the case of the beast, I don't even see the point in it being indestructible.
But it's the whole point of the quest. It's supposed to be invulnerable to any conventional weapons or explosives, otherwise the town wouldn't need your help.

Using Expose Weakness to kill otherwise unkillable NPCs/creatures is most likely an unintended exploit.

As far as I know it's also possible to kill Tanner if one is resourceful enough.

Here you go:

Sneaked into the shop and persuaded the mindreader, helped the group near the Foundry, saved the caged Faceless and gave him and adv. hypo. Never killed a single one.

I'm right before speaking to Eidein for the 1st time.

You shouldn't have any issues if you start a new game.

I started a new game and everything was and is fine. It's the save that's corrupted, not the game itself.

I really recommend you do a save rotation from now on though.

admin@underrail.com

But it's probably best to wait until he ask you himself. In the meantime you can upload your save somewhere so he can fix it somewhat later.

It's very likely that the crash corrupted several location files in your save, that was the case for me.

I recommend that you go back to a pre-crash save if you have any, and if not, upload your save and ask Styg to fix them. Corrupted locations will be reset (as if you never been there) but it's better than nothing.

Also, try keeping 3 different saves, and rotate between all of them. That way you will lose only a few hours of progress if any crashes happen again.

Have your computer crashed while in-game, by chance?

From my experience Underrail is not really crash-friendly. A single crash corrupted all my recent saves and caused transition failures, but those from hours before worked just fine.

Also, instead of being mad (which is understandable of course) and complaining, you should upload your save somewhere and email the crash logs to Styg. I had a similar issue and he said that he really has no idea what could cause this, so it's not like they are not trying to fix this.

Power Management is also not the best choice if your main weapons are firearms.

My 1500-2000 capacity energy shields disagree with you.

While I agree that Gun Nut is not very good, (if it would be 20% more minimal/total damage instead then it would be much better imo) but it's a nice addition to Power Management,  which is fantastic on any build with electronics.

Not to mention 3 INT means you won't be able to craft anything decent before reaching high enough level, basically making you play with underleveled gear for the most of the game. You don't start at level 25, you need to consider how your build performs through the whole game.

General / Shield rechargers?
« on: January 10, 2016, 01:30:41 am »
According to the wiki, there is not only a blueprint for them, but also unique components to craft it and such, all with textures, working formulas and basically ready to be put into the game.

But the only example of shield recharging I ever seen in the game are the plasma sentries in Arke power plant.

I wonder if there are any plans to implement them (perhaps in an expansion/DLC/sequel/whatever?) or is just an abandoned idea that didn't make it into the game? I predict it's the latter, but they would be great to have, especially in those rare fights where enemies use EMP grenades.

What about sharpshooter? That's 75% more crit damage with Critical Power.

But the main issue is probably the fact that not only crossbows don't get any armor piercing ammo, they incur 125% mechanical damage resistance, so they are at a double disadvantage.

From my experience they are only good at picking off lone enemies without aggroing others (because silenced guns suck) and have the best synergy with traps, but that's it.
