Becoming friendly with muties will grant you access to their shop. You'll also be able to acquire certain important information that can be very useful for dealing with Expedition's finale.

I've heard it's not the only way to get that information but cannot confirm it.

If you have enough Persuasion you can convinve them to let you in before giving them supplies. It opens an option to do... something else for them and not having to deliver supplies.

There's also and option to not talk with their leader, sneak inside unnoticed and get what you want. Be careful tho as there's something you can do down there that will give muties a hint you were there without their permission.

I know of no other source of med supplies than Aegis camp.
Anything special in their shop?

Any downsides to just mowing them down with gunfire?

A Crafting/Salesman/Major Supplier build could manually grind the required amount of Charons to give the Muties what they want, but if there's not even the option...

Never claimed it was bad, just not what I need.
I love this armour for its looks but i actually love it even more for its stats.
Initiative? Yes, please.
Huge bio resistance and good vs melee? Oh, yes. Serpents, creepers and locusts won't like it. Neither will some enemies in Deep Caverns. I can't sneak in that armour but there's no need for that if enemies can't hurt me. And there's no sneaking on jet ski anyway.
It also protects me from gas barrels and gas grenades i throw.
More persuasion? Now i can pass more persuasion checks. Cool.
On my shooty chracters I prefer Infused Rathound + Seeker Googles. On my psi characters I prefer psi beetle tac vests. The extra initiative is pretty sweet, just not as awesome as killing my opponents faster with crit.

I suppose if I ran a melee build it would be pretty useful.

Suggestions / Testudo: Stances REDUX & Shields

I understand that stances such as Crouching and Prone were not implemented to save on the animation budget (lol); but with shields taking a more prominent position in the game I feel they should be.

Crouching while wearing (riot armor with) shield should add half the melee damage block to the ranged DT of the player; i.e. crouching with a TiChrome shield should give mechanical, heat and energy DT.

Crouching in general should halve Movement/Evasion/Dodge, but increase ranged accuracy by 25%.

And a new feat: Testudo: prerequisite - Shield Arm
Increase Melee Block to Ranged DT ratio to 2/3rds, add one third of melee damage block to DR.

Enable Iron Grip to hold SMGs and Short Barreled Shotguns with 1H. Accuracy decreased by 20% and Action Point cost increased by 20%; penalties can be halved via specialization points.

Yes, I'm aware new animations may be needed...

Can we acquire supplies from another source? Other than the expedition? If so, how?

EDIT: Performed what I think is the most optimal route;

Step 1: Intimidate the Muties into giving you access
Step 2: After getting the arm, reroute/fix power so they get electricity

Now you didn't piss off Briggs *and* you got the friendship of the Muties.

You don't actually need to use a pistol, just holding it when combat starts will give you a significant buff to Initiative.

FFS Trigger Happy is +6 and Gunslinger is +7; so you'd get the equivalent of 13 points of stat-based initiative without any further specializations, and that's not counting the fact DEX is also an initiative stat like AGI, so you've lost 0 initiative.

If you're going to have 8 AGI you might as well max Evasion at minimum and I'd recommend going to 60 Dodge so you can take Uncanny, but you'll have to cut skills somewhere else to make it up.

None of your feats seem to require AGI and you have 0 points in Dodge/Evasion; if all you want is Initiative I would take 1-2 points from AGI to pump DEX to 6 or 7 for Trigger Happy and/or Gunslinger.

Overall, I'd say be stealthy and mobile.  Infused rathound leather armor with soft padding and black cloth would be my choice.
Hmm, not the new leathers? Gortsby said something about them being good, but I can't find their stats and my new char isn't Expedition ready yet.

Craft an all Q160 Supersteel armor suit? Max crit damage max quality plasma pistol? Perfect shield generator?

Give them a chuuni/ham name as befitting their awesome power level! I would totally name a Q160 Chimera "Ultima Ratio" or something equally cheesy...

This might be too much for a new player, but it's the best machete build I can think of.
3 CON on a melee psi build *cringes at the times he died in Dominating* you must be hardcore with the Forcefield/Stasis abuse...

Temporal Manipulation: 300 (max Precognition avoidance)
Precog doesn't cap at 300 skill, AFAIK. The 30% thing I said earlier was just because, with the build as you envisioning it then, 300 was about as high as you'd be able to get your TM, with gear bonuses from a Uni-Psi headband and a psibug Tac Vest.  For example, here's Precog with 368 skill:

Well, Temporal Manipulation brings into play a really excellent robot-killer power.  If you pick up the feat for it, you can actually just gather up most of Arke/RAF all at once, layer a dozen+ TDs on one target, then forcefield up and watch everything die in ripples.
Please make a video of this.
