Bugs / Re: Report spelling/grammar errors

Cliff's green boxtext changes tense at one point, switching from describing Cliff's current context, to what it used to be. Simply changing past tense "lay" to present tense "lie" would mean this would make sense. This is definitely a grammar error. More at http://web.ku.edu/~edit/lie.html

Buzzer's dialogue looks like it has been edited a number of times, and remnants of some vestigial placeholder has been left behind.

He definitely only describes one device, and the Faceless are looking for one device, so it seems odd he abruptly mentions "devices".

As for begging the question, more information can be found at http://begthequestion.info/ but rest assured that Buzzer most definitely is not begging the question as he claims.

Definitely typos.

I now realise the reason text is being clipped in "Blueprints.jpg" is due to large font size not being supported everywhere. It seems to be pretty well supported though. This is one of the rare cases it isn't.

Arlene's shot is a dialogue tree text error, even if it isn't a grammar / spelling error.

I'm not playing on Steam so I don't have some nifty way of linking screenshots so I'll simply attach them.

In the tutorial with Vencel, you're taught about stealth:
Quote from: Underrail
to successfully hide from someone, they need to keep out of their sight for a while
Probably this is meant to say "you need to keep out of their sight".

Are you using a wireless keyboard? When I used a wireless Microsoft keyboard, sometimes the keyUp event got lost in transit. Which was a real pain when it was the Backspace key that I'd tapped a moment before.

Don't use wireless keyboards. Apart from anything else, you're broadcasting your username and password through the walls to your next door neighbours / skript-kiddies whenever you log into a website, Windows, etc. etc. etc.

Bugs / Re: Stuck in Evelynn's Bunker
« on: January 06, 2016, 10:31:02 am »
I can't go back the way I came in since the electronic door outside the bunker decided to close itself on me.
I did that too.

The trouble is that in the slums:
  • it is dark
  • the door opens and closes very slowly
so you can click the electronic lock (multiple times) and not really see / know whether it's open or closed, opening or closing, etc. and find yourself finally able to move through the doorway while the door is unexpectedly on its way down.

But then, the bunker is a mantrap, so in that respect, it is working as intended (as far as in-game fiction is concerned).

My last save is from 3 hours ago.
3 hours all alone in the basement? What were you doing? The only thing I can think of is that you got hooked playing the Games on her laptop.

I did that too, actually, but I didn't twiddle my thumbs for long, waiting for Nicolas to come down the chute (Tchort only knows why he has never hooked up with been hooked up by Evelyn (and Hannibal Messer?) before now). One autosave on your way into the bunker; a second autosave coming up the ladder to discover the electrodoor has shut, means you have to go back to an earlier save game. Save early, save often. Software isn't perfect; make backups.

Something else you could try is:
  • backup your "Quicksave" slot, just in case anything goes wrong
  • reload any earlier saved game
  • travel to Foundry
  • go into the slums
  • hack the electro door and pick the trapdoor
  • save the game into a new slot, eg "Rescue"
  • explore to "C:\Users\Me\Documents\My Games\Underrail\Saves\Rescue\lmaps" and sort the files by Date Modified; it looks like the most recently modified files would be:
    • "fo3_slums.ap"
    • "fo3_slums.uzdm"
    • "FO3_slums_L1.uzl"
    but I could be mistaken
  • copy these files into "C:\Users\Me\Documents\My Games\Underrail\Saves\Quicksave\lmaps" overwriting the existing files
  • load Quicksave in Underrail, and you should have everything from your playthrough, with just the slums map "imported" from the state in your "Rescue" playthrough
If that doesn't work, try making sure:
  • you are out of the slums map when saving "Rescue" and
  • you are out of the slums map on the save you're about to import the slums map to
just in case the game gets confused if the map is blatted while you're actually within that same map.

Bugs / Re: Zone Transition Exploit
« on: January 06, 2016, 08:01:50 am »
Closely related to this "time is frozen for zones I am not in" is a problem with TNT clearing rocks. In many locations, the rocks are right near to the transition zone. So you plant the TNT, its 10 second timer starts, you warp out of the map, wait a minute or two to make sure the TNT has detonated, walk back into the map, and the TNT timer continues. The only way to clear these rocks is to just stand next to the TNT and hope to survive the explosion damage yourself. It's an understandable limitation.

I'm playing on the GOG version 1.0.0.0 and was able to use my freebie on the last technique he would teach (the final one is not the most expensive, I know, but still) so if you devs need a savegame where the freebie is still available and the final technique is for sale, in order to make comparisons, let me know.

Alternatively if you can see it works as intended on my version 1.0.0.0 and apparently doesn't in the OP's version 1.0.0.5 that could be helpful to know.

Here's a screenshot of the Vault Odis key mentioned above.

There's a similar situation in CampHathor.

'Save Often'. Well, I'm not like most, in that I don't like to use 'Save Abuse'.
You can abstain from "Save Abuse" by honourably not loading saves after an undesirable outcome.

Abstaining from creating and keeping appropriate saves in the first place might be your chosen play-style. But that doesn't change the fact that saved games are a feature available to you in the game and they would mitigate the disappointment you are experiencing entirely.

All software has bugs. Backup often.

Bugs / Re: NPC Aggro ruining a save and 60+ hours lost
« on: January 06, 2016, 07:11:36 am »
You should have autosaves from whenever you have transitioned between maps, in additional to any quicksaves and manual saves you've made. Can't you load from a state before you assassinated the loner in the room?
