I'll say minimum 2-3 hours, more if this is your very first time to the DP.

Yes but what I'm saying is that I didn't get the option to tell the "rejects" how they are to escape until AFTER I had made the jump down the hole, it wasn't 'good enough' by merely going over to the hole and 'interact' with it or should I say 'looking down' into the hole.
So I guess we're talking about a bug then?

Right so I managed to make my character understand the 'route' to tell the "rejects" about HOWEVER that only became possible after I had JUMPED down the hole which I'm not sure if that's intended or not, probably is since you don't know at the time it'll lead to upperrail outside of the institute.

Although I had to inject some morphine before making the jump since I'm playing on hard diff. with 3 points in constitution but that's okay I guess all things considered.

Aaaaahhh....

So I actually have to 'interact' with said hole before my character will bother to remember it?
Will try to see if this fixes my current issue when I get home.

Thanks for the tip.  8)

If you don't bother buying special ammunition whenever you go about doing the 'silvery rounds', you're doing it wrong.
And by 'silvery rounds' I refer to when you got from merchant to merchant buying the items you want/need, wait 60-90 minutes, rinse 'n repeat.

Greetings

I'm trying to have the rejects escape through the ventilation shaft, the same that you use to get into the "utility section" but even with all of the Tchortists dead in the area where they're being kept my character will not simply tell "how to escape".
I firmly believe this is a bug because I've managed to have them run for that ventilation shaft once before but now it seems that's just not gonna happen, I think it's bugged but if anyone else knows something I don't then please do tell.

Make 'em 'silvery rounds' and eventually you'll come across some 120-130'ish quality crafting components...
Tchort institute > Core City > Oculus wait 60-90 minutes, rinse 'n repeat.

I do refer the deep caverns as the "DP" indeed and sorry for 'breaking it' to you but you will NOT be able to get out of the DP until your 'business' there has been concluded.
For what it's worth, you'll be able to continue playing after leaving the DP though.

Good luck.

Greetings

From personal experience I've never managed to find anything BEFORE hoppin' into the DP above the quality of 140, however once you're in the DP there are several places where there are high quality components (randomized) that goes well beyond 140.

I like to believe based on 7 playthroughs of the entire game that you'll not find any crafting components above 140 prior entering the DP, although I will admit that I did manage to get my hands on a plasma core of 144 which I bought from the Tchort investigation department but that probably was a 'once off' when you consider that when merchants 'refresh' their inventory then it's completely random what will be up for purchase.
Who knows maybe if you keep going them 'silvery circles' Core city, Oculus and the Tchort institute for 100 times aka 60-90 minutes a full round of 'refreshing' then perhaps you'll be able to get aluminum cloth at 130+ although I personally think that managing 120+ is easily going to get you through the DP alive, if not even a lower 'standard' of quality values like 100.

On the other hand you could wait to craft your 'final get-up' till you've at least looted the spots with the high quality components in the DP, I for one like to think that the secret spot there is in the 'shroom kingdom' will always give off 2 x random high quality rolls of cloth of 140-160, been a while since I went there but I do believe it was 160 every time but I could be wrong.

Lastly aluminum cloth isn't 'too important' to get the highest quality for, after all you'll become immune to "burning your feet" even if that roll of aluminum cloth was at quality 1, beyond that it's merely a question of resistance towards 'fiery' sources aka incendiary bolts, incendiary grenades, PSI powers or plasma projectiles.

10] Personally I don't think that there's a 'real need' for 'tweaking' the XP values with the oddity system, I've managed to reach level 25 on several playthroughs before I even hit the elevator button going to the DP, yes that means I've more or less explored all of southern underrail but that's to be expected really, southern underrail is a large 'world' in itself even without the DP, then again the DP serves as one big 'last stage' which did surprise me how big the DP actually was my first trip there.
Besides you can get over 3 levels, almost 4 picking up oddities in the DP alone.

If there's one thing I think that should be tweaked then that would be the things like how assault rifles are FAR FAR superior to everything else in the game, doesn't matter if the target is far away or right up your face, you can spray 'n pray with burst/full-auto and just murder everything and everybody in the general direction you're firing.
But that's another 'topic' I suppose as in one could argue if it's that easy, then perhaps someone like myself shouldn't play a rifle build then.
Just saying that if you want 210% chance of completing the game without too much of a 'hassle' when it comes to combat, then assault rifles is the way to do it.

Lastly I'll say yes there are certain things that could be improved upon, but frankly at this point I rather see new content like new items or new areas expanding on the southern underrail in which I'm certain one could manage to do with all the 'caved off' passages and what-not.
Although I would much prefer a sequel to underrail rather see resources that could've gone towards a sequel being used on essentially 'upgrading' the current game, hell make what improvements that is deemed necessary/highly requested in the sequel like developers back in the olden days did.

Well other than the mysteries that are 'bout, you can get a different ending for core city if you work for arch knight(?) and tell him what Cornell tells you what happened at the 'exchange' for the artifact.

Then there's the ending you get if you manage to 'persuade' the rathound king not to engage with the hunters, if the hunters in turn don't enter his 'land' not that the whole area is his but parts of it is apparently.

The first thing I thought when I saw the Oculus was "Holy crap, that entire thing is made from the same material as the disk!" and I can't shake that impression. Dat alien tech would probably make for a good crafting material... :P

It's possible that the disk has no function at the moment, but that doesn't diminish its mystery one bit. And did Eddy know something about it? Most likely not, but why did he want it?

Also wish that Abram would make the damn trip to junkyard already so I can find out why Abram soil himself when you mention that Wyatt pears(?) is still alive after a century
Seconded! His motivation seems obvious to me: possible cure for his condition. Nevertheless, it would be very interesting to see how the encounter goes and what follows.

Almost forgot to mention "dude", wish one could confront his ass after the trip to the DP and just ask him 'how's that self-replicating toilet paper going DUDE??'.
LOL, well, maybe you can do that soontm.

then again there's that miner helmet with the initials I.H. but I wouldn't know for sure who that might be, as far I know I.H. isn't anyone from the apartments in the DP.
That's Isaac Hathor. See if you can get a history lesson the next time you visit the camp.

Not sure how you came up with the idea that the disk Eddy wants is made from the same material as the oculus..?  ???

I currently have an 'idea' for where the medallion *MIGHT* have some sort of bizarre use but since a recent windows 7 update fucked me because I happen to have an ASUS motherboard with secure boot or whatever, all my saved games went poof since Underrail on steam doesn't have the steam cloud(?) available for it.
Currently working my way through the game so I can try out this idea of mine.

As of the mysterious disk I have no idea, I did a playthrough with a psionic with 7 per + snooping and 16 intelligence (wanted to see if something new came up), went all over southern underrail trying to figure out what to do with the damn disk, went to the Tchort outpost in the DP, went to the various places with 'alien machinery', went to all the god damn terminals etc. that I could think of and nowhere did the damn disk do anything.
Have to assume the disk have no purpose what-so-ever in the current game or if it actually does then the damn thing don't work.
Unless of course the damn disk is meant to be used inside Eldein's study which I've yet to figure out how to crack open!

Someone told me 'Siphoner man' was just a ref. to a lovecraft thing, although personally I like to think that you could 'fish it out' of the water somewhere, maybe south of SGS since there seems to be some sort of 'lair' with a ton of bones littered all over the place but that's a wild ass guess at this point.

Also wish that Abram would make the damn trip to junkyard already so I can find out why Abram soil himself when you mention that Wyatt pears(?) is still alive after a century, waiting for those responsible for the incident there to come back and look for him. (Ezra I'm looking at you, you wormy motherfucker..!)

Then there's the god damn Tchort mutant rejects that you can help escape but would be interesting to see if you can actually find them somewhere in southern underrail after you leave the DP, like how you can go to that annoying fucker at the market area in core city and tell him that DP is just waiting for him to come and loot it all up.

Lastly there's the god damn alien consoles for the alien machinery that just won't 'budge' when it comes to figuring out how to access them, had high level psionics with high 'will-power' looking at them, I've had a 16 intelligence character with 7 per + snooping looking at them, I've interacted with them while having the mysterious disk, mark of the faceless, yada yada yada and still nothing so I have to assume that you're not meant to make anything of the damn alien consoles for the machinery since well they're of alien origin so the chances of being able to 'decipher' them as a mere human seem rather improbable.

But yes there are some mysteries alright and I've yet to find the god damn black arrow, although I have an idea where it *might* be but with my old saves/Characters gone, I gotta work my way through the game first..!

Almost forgot to mention "dude", wish one could confront his ass after the trip to the DP and just ask him 'how's that self-replicating toilet paper going DUDE??'.

Oh. almost forgot. There is also absolutely positively no way to interact with 2 alien consoles. (as of current patch anyways)
(Edit: Even if could use the said alien machine you can't use that machine's feature for your own good anyways, so...)

and as I said in the above post, Eldain's study has absolutely positively no way to enter.  (as of current patch)

I think there is additional dialogue with Ezra with certain man. I don't know when this was added, but we have it now.

Hopefully this helps you to deduce your findings.

Ah.

So I'm not crazy after all when I say there's no way to enter Eldein's study or that the alien consoles aren't 'accessible'.
