General / Re: Endings (obvious spoiler alert)
« on: April 19, 2016, 11:38:59 am »
I currently have an 'idea' for where the medallion *MIGHT* have some sort of bizarre use but since a recent windows 7 update fucked me because I happen to have an ASUS motherboard with secure boot or whatever, all my saved games went poof since Underrail on steam doesn't have the steam cloud(?) available for it.
Currently working my way through the game so I can try out this idea of mine.

As of the mysterious disk I have no idea, I did a playthrough with a psionic with 7 per + snooping and 16 intelligence (wanted to see if something new came up), went all over southern underrail trying to figure out what to do with the damn disk, went to the Tchort outpost in the DP, went to the various places with 'alien machinery', went to all the god damn terminals etc. that I could think of and nowhere did the damn disk do anything.
Have to assume the disk have no purpose what-so-ever in the current game or if it actually does then the damn thing don't work.
Unless of course the damn disk is meant to be used inside Eldein's study which I've yet to figure out how to crack open!

Someone told me 'Siphoner man' was just a ref. to a lovecraft thing, although personally I like to think that you could 'fish it out' of the water somewhere, maybe south of SGS since there seems to be some sort of 'lair' with a ton of bones littered all over the place but that's a wild ass guess at this point.

Also wish that Abram would make the damn trip to junkyard already so I can find out why Abram soil himself when you mention that Wyatt pears(?) is still alive after a century, waiting for those responsible for the incident there to come back and look for him. (Ezra I'm looking at you, you wormy motherfucker..!)

Then there's the god damn Tchort mutant rejects that you can help escape but would be interesting to see if you can actually find them somewhere in southern underrail after you leave the DP, like how you can go to that annoying fucker at the market area in core city and tell him that DP is just waiting for him to come and loot it all up.

Lastly there's the god damn alien consoles for the alien machinery that just won't 'budge' when it comes to figuring out how to access them, had high level psionics with high 'will-power' looking at them, I've had a 16 intelligence character with 7 per + snooping looking at them, I've interacted with them while having the mysterious disk, mark of the faceless, yada yada yada and still nothing so I have to assume that you're not meant to make anything of the damn alien consoles for the machinery since well they're of alien origin so the chances of being able to 'decipher' them as a mere human seem rather improbable.

But yes there are some mysteries alright and I've yet to find the god damn black arrow, although I have an idea where it *might* be but with my old saves/Characters gone, I gotta work my way through the game first..!

Almost forgot to mention "dude", wish one could confront his ass after the trip to the DP and just ask him 'how's that self-replicating toilet paper going DUDE??'.

EDIT: Oh yeah then there's Leo who seem like he would be more than just a hermit who came to the DP, interacted with one of the obelisks and somehow ended up forgetting who he once was, mind getting all "fuzzy", then again there's that miner helmet with the initials I.H. but I wouldn't know for sure who that might be, as far I know I.H. isn't anyone from the apartments in the DP.

General / Re: high base abilities and their influences on the game

Now I might be an "arse" for pointing out that this 'validates' several 'play-throughs' but from what I can tell having played through the entire game 7 times I've yet to find/experience something that I needed more than 10 points in a stat point to become available during dialogue, then again who knows but I like to think that the 'thought' behind it was to make stats of high value or 10 which is a 'semi-high' value for a stat would be 'good enough' for intended purpose.
I'll just list most if not all my 'experiences' here just for the sake of 'food for thought'.
Now I can't for the life of me figure out how to god damn put a 'spoiler' tag like [spoiler] but damn thing won't work for me..! so before you go down below.. SPOILERS! D:

-Railroad crossing's electronic merchant after the dinner/bar have a line of dialogue available to those with intelligence of 6 and another one for character with intelligence of 7.

- If you have dexterity of 10 or more you can punch "Void" in the face *wink *wink.

- If you have a willpower of 10 you can resist Ezra's thought control-related incursion.

- If you have a willpower of 10 you can actually resist being 'paralyzed' by Six in the west wing.

- If you have strength of 10 you can flex your muscles at Sophie of the Talloski family.

- You can interact with all the "Obelisks" with a willpower of 10.

- You can move all 'moveable' objects with a strength of 10.

- You can ask Six if he was involved in the theft of 'artifact' having 10 in intelligence.

- having 100 or more in thought control allows you to see into the thoughts/minds of certain people/beings.

- You can crawl/climb all 'obstacles' with a value of 10 agility.

- You can 'calm' Jookhela and avoid killing her with a willpower of 10.

Anyway the point is for the vast majority of the 'cases' it would seem that having the value of 10 in any of the stats is 'absolute' and anything below 10 is a 'maybe'.

You can find the train, then report it to the 'administrator' of Railroad crossing in which will have you go and report it at the protectorate outpost south of railroad crossing to the major who'll refer you to ambassador Athanas(?) in the junkyard embassy which you can go to by elevator at the protectorate outpost.

Long story short YES you can join the protectorate without killing the free drones but you cannot 'conclude' the quest line that the protectorate offers without killing some if not most of the free drones operating in southern underrail aka you won't be able to get a certain reward without 'bloodying' your hands.

Well shit...

Now all we need is to find the "Black Arrow" and everyone can be happy... I think.

Just 'exhaust' the initial dialogue options with him, then talk to the barkeep and ask him about the guy with the "fissure tattoo" which then will open more dialogue options with him, including have him mention the missing merchants.

I tried to free them during the faceless invasion but it proved to be not possible so I just went ahead to enjoy the 'sights' of the butchering of the Tchortists... Oh the irony that they would be culled by the "degenerates".

I need to make another 'trip' like that one with a stealth character and see if I can get some of 'em noble robes off the mangled carcass of some bastard tchort noble just for the sake of having a nice 'addition' to the collection.

General / Re: Super Soldier Drug?
« on: March 16, 2016, 06:54:47 pm »
By "experience" you mean how well it performs yes?

The super soldier drug is the PINNACLE of combat drugs all stats EXCEPT intelligence & will are increased by 2 points AND all combat skills increased by 20% and it lasts 2 turns if my memory doesn't fail me.
(combat is everything except PSI-related stuff)

Basically it's the 'best combat drug' you can get as a non-psi user, however it does require you have 130 in biology and get some of the more 'difficult' materials to make this wonderful drug.

In short all you need to worry about is catching "Ghostface" fish which you can get from the lake(?) in the deep caverns even with a character of 3 dex, might not be as easy as with a character with 16 dex but that's a given, point is it is NOT impossible to get ghostface fish with a low dex character thus making it possible to make said drug.
Although after going through the 'trouble' of catching the ghostface fish you'll need/want you WILL need the brain tumors(?) from Tchorts minions which well... can only be obtained by hunting them down in Tchort's 'realm', I for one would say the big bastards with claws and the bizarre things that vomits mutagen tumors aren't too bad to handle, it's the 'scanners' you need to squish before they get that nasty mental breakdown off and kill you in an instant. (on hard mode anyway..)

Lastly you should probably know that you'll not need more than 1-2 of these I reckon since they have a cooldown of 8 turns(?) unless you like to 'stock up' on the drug since after defeating Tchort you will NOT be able to get any more brain tumors which should be self-explanatory.

EDIT: OH! my personal experience with the drug is that it provides nothing less but 'wonders' and if I have the points in biology or can reach it with a +2 intelligence boost from junkyard surprises then I'll make it in a heartbeat!

Good hunting!

General / Re: Preparing for Deep Caverns
« on: January 26, 2016, 08:02:24 am »
Now correct me if I'm wrong but I am FAIRLY certain that there's 10 'bricks' of explosives as well as 90 lithium-based batteries in the depot/warehouse area(s) where the faceless patrols.
Not to mention ALL the ammunition you can want in the world EXCEPT special ammo like AP/JHP, sure there's some of that but not nearly as much as all the regular ammo caches in the area.

In my opinion here's my tip(s) for you:
  • Using guns? bring all the AP/JHP etc. ammo you can get/carry
  • Craft 'end-game' armor/weapon(s) etc. before or after entering deep caverns? personally I tend to wait till I reach the depot/warehouse area(s) in the deep caverns since usually there's 2-5 high end components to be found, some can be found inside the ARK power-plant as well.
  • Psionics? bring all the psionic related stuff you can carry with you since in my opinion psi-boosters were really rare in the 'end-game' area unless you want to 'farm' mindshrooms with psi-beetles and siphoners hang around you.
  • Bring a fishing rod if that's your thing?
  • Chemist/biologist? bring all the ampules and beakers you can since there's a lot of interesting 'fauna' to make use of!

Other than that I figure the rest like explosives and other misc. gear can be found in the warehouse/depot area(s).
Oh and don't forget that you will NOT be able to leave until you've defeated Tchort!

Suggestions / Re: Need achievement and achievement name suggestions
« on: January 25, 2016, 12:35:56 pm »
Here's some ideas for achievements now that I've completed the game several times, which I find could easily have 'grounds' for having an achievement.

Now there's going to be some spoiler(s) so in case you're here and don't want spoilers STOP READING!

...

...

...

  • Oculite Operative (Complete Azif's assignment)
  • Free Drones Savior (Complete the Free Drones' quest-line)
  • Protectorate Elite (Complete Protectorate' quest-line)
  • Invictus rises! ('Dominate' every arena challenge)
  • Master detective (Solve the murder case in SGS)
  • Enlightened one (See every 'obellisk' vision)
  • Volatile mutagen science (Inject exitus-1 into Tchort)
  • Marked of the faceless (receive the 'mark/token' from the faceless)

Note(s):

Achievements 1, 6 & 8 should be 'secret' achievements.

... At least they didn't shit all over it like most of these "Game journalist magazine(s)" tend to do whenever they happen to look at titles they weren't paid to give a 9/10 or 10/10 *cough* IGN *cough* Roosterteeth *cough* 99% of the god damn "game press media" as a whole.

Only place that actually matters to me is god damn Matt Chat and Jeff Gerstmann, Matt Chat who more or less only interview people who's worth his time and Jeff Gerstmann who doesn't give a SHIT about buzzwords like "AAA gaming" or "next-gen"
He just says it as it is and for the VAST VAST majority of the time the SHIT these publisher fucks puts out there all the while brain dead consumers just buy into the 60 dollar pricetags + 30 dollars for a "season pass" only encourage same publisher fucks to keep doing what they're doing: Lynching peoples fucking pockets for as much as they can get away with it as fast/often they can get to do it all over again.
Don't even get me started on the utter lack of actual Q&A since I will bet a million dollars that they don't even have a Q&A team even though they put out new shiny shits every 6-12 months, they have their mindless 'customers' to point out the bugs that makes it literally impossible to even start the damn thing, Sim city, Diablo 3 Ala error #37 the list goes on and on.

Hopefully Chris Roberts and his Star Citizen project will show the entire world that all these publisher fucks are nothing but lying scum who have actively prevented actual advancement in technologies within the 'industry' by ensuring that whatever "games" they're remotely responsible for are built from the ground up to cater to their beloved console market with all the mindless consumers who just don't know any better than to hand over their wallets to their corporate overlords for a sliver piece of entertainment with such low quality that I wanna fucking kill myself rather having to 'digest' such cancerous quality "products"!

Y'know I used to like Totalbiscuit and Angry joe but Totalbiscuit gave "Undertale" (not underrail, that shitty tumblr game!) a 'highly recommended' statement and angry joe is way too positive and forgiving to be what I would call an actual critic and don't even have me talk about how Angry joe bowed over and let Anita sardouche **** him in the *** because reasons I guess.

God help us all.

Eels want him alive. Scrappers want him dead. You're probably confusing that with the Black Eels' takeover of Junkyard.

Oh yeah! I meant the scrappers not the damn black eels!  ;D

General / Re: Do some merchant buy any of the following...
« on: January 22, 2016, 02:32:17 pm »
I can confirm from personal experience that merchants WILL NOT buy the following:

  • Scrap bits
  • Throwing knives
  • Throwing nets
  • Cages (although caged cave hoppers goes as foodstuff)
  • Dirty rags
  • Bottles
  • Compasses
  • Flares
  • Fishing rod

Think I've gotten most of it and on another 'note' yes sledgehammer handles can be sold as well but can't remember if the bolt triggers can be sold, I know the other little thingies "dischargers" you use for EMP related stuff can be sold to merchants.
As of "best items" to sell that depends ENTIRELY on the overall quality of the item like some leather armor will go for below 1000 while others up to 5000-6000 or some tactical vests going for less than 2000 while others go for 18000.
Should you have a hard time to determine whenever it's worthwhile or not try to repair it and see how significant the value increase is.

Laughable that kickstarter have said "requirements" when clearly they don't have any standards for said requirements, it's all about different countries, nothing more.

Want proof of kickstarter's bullshit "standards"? Here you go if you can stomach the cancerous "kickstarter projects": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90jQ3uOEtOQ

Now I would gladly offer a kidney to have some skin in the game but... for all you know I'm a chinese sweatshop worker who have a dream of getting a non-GMO, organic fastfood restaurant up and running but let's not even go there cause just thinking about it makes me wanna pop a 45. bullet into that scrawny eyed motherfucker's kneecap!
