I think I'm out of ways to rescue the Tchortists from the Faceless camp without aggro. My stealth is not quite high enough to pick the lock, I cannot find a key, and no speech abilities. Anything I haven't tried short of opening fire?

What is the hacking required to reboot IRIS, assuming it can actually be done? And is the threshold modified or unmodified? Mine is currently 81(126).

How long do Dopplegangers last after the death of the Psionic who spawned them? is it dependent on Psi strength? I just had two of them last for 3 rounds after. For immersion, and perhaps balance, unkillable and strong enemies who last that long seems off.

Both are correct, sadly.

Circular Wave Amplifiers really do suck for energy shields. The slight increase in shield threshold absolutely does not make up for the ridiculous hit to the capacity, especially considering High Efficiency Energy Converter and Shield Capacitor don't have any penalties whatsoever.

Yeah.

:( Seems like an oversight on the dev's part. I can understand a big nerf, but that is crazy. I use an Amplifier against a single enemy in the whole game, then sell it.

Is the "Capacity" stat of Energy Shields measured in damage? If so, then shields I craft with Circular Wave Amplifier have their Capacity well below the damage they block for a single attack. If true, this seems to make it essentially useless. Would it help to use a lower quality Wave Amplifier?

I am doing the JKK questline this time. At first I had low Mercantile and failed the check for the additional items. Later I pumped it up, and passed his check. However, he does not offer any items with the borders around them signifying additional stuff for purchase.

I wasn't paying much attention when I turned in all 3 final Oculus quests to Jack Quicksilver. I think I've failed to do them "Optimally" for the first time ever. Azif is not there. I suspect it's because I snuck in and killed the assassin without being filmed or seen, but I did not talk to him first. Big mistake apparently? I perhaps am too jaded and didn't pay enough attention. Really sucks since Oculus is a high point of the game and I never did get to the 3rd level of the database. If I did in fact fail, can anyone send me a cheatengine script to set the Oculus flag, or am I just going to have to deal with it?

The foundry-oculus quest... it is the most easier to complete optimally but in a certain way: When you have killed the Beast you can speak with Chief to release Todor after talking to the prison warden. Only need to find his sniper rifle left behind.

Is there any actual in game benefits for finding Occulus?

Aside for a reward for Lockpicking/hacking users by completing a quest, the area is rich in lore information, it has an almost end-game store (even better with Mercantile skill) and after returning from Deep Caverns you can get additional info about certain obnoxious cyborg and his background.

I know how to complete the Foundry portion without violence, as I've done it a dozen times. I thought I'd change it up this time and assassinate him, and I could swear that was still an "optimal" way. But I suspect the problem is that I didn't talk to anyone besides the Oculus agent first. I don't like this...it's very arbitrary. I think non-optimal should be something like you killed him but got seen doing it etc. I'm bummed out: that shop in Oculus is the best electronics shop in the game for quite some time.

Other than feats, what are some set ups for assured crits? I was just reading someone say that attacking from stealth guarantees one, is this true? Also saw something about traps. This is something I haven't really been aware of.

The overall illumination of the target is what counts, regardless of the source(s) or color of the light (though colored lights provide less overall illumination).

I agree it's sometimes hard to tell if the ambush will trigger so I might add the suggested indicator when targeting.
Please do. Those of us with less than perfect eyesight have problems with the subtle gradients of light in the game.

General / Please explain Heavy Punch use to me

I am not seeing the value in this feat. 200% cost for 180% damage. I have not actually ever tried this feat in any build, but my guesses would be: at low level when fist weapons have difficulty penetrating resistance or perhaps "charging up" the attack with another feat or some other type of buff before using Heavy Punch. I really can't see how it's worth taking with what I know now, perhaps someone else could enlighten me.

I certainly hope their sales are doing well.

But @Hal900 I hope there is never a sequel. Sequels disjoint story-lines, and often create inconsistent experiences.

As for the dev team, we're keeping our heads down for most part and working towards releasing the expansion as soon as we can.

The sales are doing decently and company is not in any danger for the moment, so don't worry about that.

It ends on a cliffhanger with more questions than answers, so I'm looking forward to a sequel. That is, if it wasn't written "Lost" style, meaning made up as he went all along as most tv shows are

General / sealed area south of Core City faceless standoff

A few tiles south of the Core City tracks where the Core City guard is holding off the Faceless there is a sealed blast door and a small windowed room with computer terminal, locker and shelves. Is that one of the biocorp labs, or jsut there for flavor? I wasn't able to find another way around. I'm guessing it's something I entered from another side in previous plays and just didnt' recognize it.
