Why do you assume it cannot crit? Any special ability that cannot crit has that explicitly stated in its description, like Snipe or Implosion for example.

Really can't see what the source of confusion here is, the description is not vague or ambiguous at all.

Well, i think he asked not wherever this attack can crit or not, but if this damage will be multiplied in that case. And i'm not sure if this is the case.

Well, at least you have clarified it was normal.
yep, I'd rather play wacky build on normal than power gaming through hard.
I'm fine with it, I mean you can't truly judge build on Normal.
Normal is still the way it's meant to be played. But are you sure Hard is enough to truly judge a build? ;)

Hard Ironman? With one hand. And a bag over your head. And someone constantly beating you with sandbag.

What are your skills and attributes? You can use this http://underrail.info.tm/build/ to just show it.

If you have Dex 7, you can take Quick Tinkering on your next level and use it in combat. Though if your stealth is completely zero, it's just better to go straight for Tchort, probably.

antitermic boots

Why do you have boots and not tabi? I mean, you DO have tichrome sledgehammer. It means that with lifting belt + tabi you can swing it 3 time per turn instead of 2 (without adrenaline).

Overall your build looks like you followed some guidelines from forum, but you skipped the gear part. 33% mech resist for  a "heavy" sledg build looks really lacking. Did you use just one metal plate for your armor?

Maybe you should just level up some more. It will give you more hp, more damage (since your combat skill increases damage and accuracy), couple more feats and attribute point. Perhaps this is what you need to push this battle in your favor.

Drugs - I used adrenaline+morphine, don't have anything else besides med hypos

Unlike real life, in Underrail "more drugs" can really be an answer to your problems.

More information would be helpful, like you build and gear.

I killed Tchort with melee builds. Hammer, knife, unarmed - all of them. Didn't even had to destroy the tanks or solve the puzzle, if i remember correctly.

Quote
A try to destroy a mutagen tank <--- downright impossible, I can get max 1-2 hits before tentacles destroying m

Try using TNT charges. There are some lying in the warehouse area. One charge is enough to destroy the tank.

B going directly to the boss, he has like 20% of his health left before i'm killed, my hypos doesn't help me much.

Try using drugs to help you. For example morphine + lifting belt + mushroom brew and you are VERY resistant to damage for 3 turns. Stuff like focus stim, giving +15% crit chance, will increase your overall damage immensely.

C mutangen puzzle, I gave up this is just too boring also only have like 8 mutagens

The puzzle is not that hard. If you have troubles, use this link to help you http://underrail.info.tm/mutagens/. You can even just ask for help solving it on forums and steam discussions, a lot of people already did. If you don't want to spend time looking hard for mutagens, you can look up their locations on wiki.

Styg said something on the forums "you don't need mutagen puzzle if you made i through the caverns" sorry man but that's bullshit; I made it trhough the caverns only to be fucking destroyed by the last boss.

You really don't. Maybe not you specifically, but if one overcame challenges of the caverns (like how to deal with high mech resist, for example) then one can kill the last boss. Try varying your tactics and general approach to battle.

Yeah, Execute is just overdoing it. Though he probably just wanted to see how big he can get in damage. The thing is, you can get 2 shots/turn with plasma pistol, as much as with sniper rifle (albeit with lower range and accuracy on second shot, though with no move and close range penalties either). And with proper crit build, you can get very decent damage per turn. On small targets you can use laser pistol. Also, they have an advantage of dealing a damage that is less resistant compared to mechanical and you don't need to keep a supply of W2C to deal with enemies like bots, bladelings and others like that.

Overall i think energy pistols are better than regular pistols, they may be one-trick pony, but they at least have this trick and this trick is decent. They still not that great, and need a buff, so they can be used outside of very specific build.

Since elemental bolts can hit critically you can deal huge electric/heat/acid damage, deadly snares gives you always a critical hit (except for npcs immunt to critical hits), bowyer gives you better criticals. Bladelings if I recall are immune to criticals, poison and hypertoxicity work great anyway

Bladelings are not immune to critical. Though if you are not using elemental bolts or poison, it won't do you a lot of good due to their insane mechanical resistance.

General / Re: Help with high making CON build?
« on: August 15, 2017, 09:50:13 am »
If you are starting with 10 Con and putting all stat boost there, then taking Sledgehammer is not a good choice. AR would be a much better choice, since even with Per of 8-10 you would can give a lot of damage dues to burst + commando. Sledgehammer deals damage in several large spikes, meaning that without making Str as you main attribute you would miss much more and you damage per round will be a lot lower.

It's much harder to make sledgehammer build with a very high con, due to the fact that it need a lot more attributes to work. Agi 6 for Sprint (without it, you can waste you whole turn trying to get to opponent), also feats like Expose Weakness (Int 5) and Cheap Shots (Int 5, Dex 6) are very useful. On the other hand, AR is so much simple in the attribute distribution. 8 Str, 8-10 Per and you already solid.

Not necessarily a hard counter, but perhaps some sort of crafting component that you can use in place of components like amplifier or converter. And it will make energy shield loose less power from being exposed to emp burst depending on the quality. It will not completely negate the usefulness of EMP grenades and mines, but also it would have cost of not using different component. With increasing the use of emp stuff, component like this would have it's use, but wouldn't be overpowered

Awww, you say such sweet things, Styg  :)

Some of you RPG veterans just need a space of your own when it comes to difficulty.

Can you really blame us? :)

Wow. You are certainly giving the player a lot more power with this change. I fear that these changes will trivialize the game in terms of combat, especially for players going the Classic XP route, but I suspect that you have plans to ensure things remain interesting and balanced. (e.g. stronger enemies, greater waves of enemies, less consumables, etc.)

These changes also seem to directly oppose your goal of making it so that no one player can become a perfect jack-of-all-trades and dominate every aspect of the game world (i.e. have a high amount of skill in combat, subterfuge, crafting, psi, and speechcraft). But, again, I imagine you have plans to get around this.

Regardless, this will certainly make things interesting! Keep up the good work, guys. :)

I really don't think that 5 levels worth of skill points would really allow for a character to become a perfect jack-of-all-trades. Especially when you throw psi skills in this.

But man, do i really like the specialization options. Already have plans for armor sloping (and possibly nimble) for my unarmed guy in metal armor.

Suggestions / Re: On Tchort and An Alternative

I'm pretty sure Styg & Co. have plans for Six and Tanner so your alternative end game scenario wouldn't really work.

So? Just make this ending non-canon. A mean we already have two endings, where you can either go where Six tell you to, or stay in SGS.

The real reason they wouldn't do that i think is that it will require quite a lot of time and effort to implement and they would rather spend those on some other things. StygSoft is basically and indie company and they have to be careful about resource management.

"Based on some lore available lategame, I don't think any of us would have a chance against Tanner."

Not sure about that. Six is very strong, but Tanner is stated to be weaker than Six, though there is no real estimate on how much weaker.

Energy pistols are already a pretty viable build. I'm not saying that they couldn't use some love form developers, but you can get through the game without much trouble if you know what you are doing. In my opinion they are easier than crossbows and regular pistols

Try throwing-only build. And don't use grenades. Challenge yourself, mate)

General / Re: Bleed build: Tabi Boots vs Bladed
« on: June 23, 2017, 04:57:38 am »
Why use knife when fist weapons are better? The unique gloves like Ripper's Glove (three opportunities to create bleeding)  and Claw (additional damage multiplier source + bleed) are pretty good in damage department and if you use super steel armor + feat Armor Sloping, you would even qualify for Lightning Punches that will reduce you AP per punch by 2. It's possible to get AP per punch down to 4 with fists, but with knife it's 6 at best. And if you are crafting you gear than there almost no difference in damage, because it's easier to create higher quality leather with infusion than to find high quality steel plates
