Discussions / Request for a spoiler... musroom forest skeleton
« on: June 26, 2016, 07:04:35 pm »
I finished playing the game two weeks ago, waiting for the North Underrail DLC ... but I just realized I forgot to check something. So, if you have the reply to this question, let me know...

I the northern cave below the mushroom forest (if I remember well: go down the root, then West, then North, go North West of that cave), you can see a skeleton on the NW side of the room - I could not see a way to get to the skeleton (I suspect this is the one of a lady researcher of the Hollow Research Center - but I forgot her name). There is a gap preventing to go to the skeleton, an an exit behind the skeleton.

Can you reach the skeleton from another "room" elsewhere? Is there some valuable information you can gain?

Thanks in advance

PS: I am posting this also on Steam.

Help!

So, who could capture a burrower or even a spawn for Sophie? I tried Tranquillizing bolts (they are immune), flash bang grenades and nets. It always end up in "capture failed" when it is time to put them in the box. Does dexterity play a lot ? I have 5+1 dex.

The end game is about "amusing Sophie". So, how do you catch a burrower - she wants a pet monster?  Also, I have no idea for a prank - tried to speak with people, I tried to carry this human brain from Al Fabet around too.

I can stealth through the manor, so I am asking because I just WANT TO KNOW the answer to the quest!

PS: after fighting these burrowers all the time, it was not easy to find a location where they respawn...

Bugs / Small UI bug in Oculus' computer

You would hope these Great Older Golden Gods would know about recursion, but no!

Repeat with: go to computer in Occulus, go to Personal files, look at any name, then choose "Back", you go to the top level menu rather than the list of Personal Files.

The Subject says it almost all. Here are the details:

1. Mareth and the two others.

- on the way to gas the drones, I decided these three were too... whatever. So I took them on top of the ladder (or I killed Mareth in the vent before killing the two others up the ladder - can't remember).
- Then gas the drones.
- Returning to Fort Apogee, I get all the Protectorate in Upper Underrail against me.
- Protectorate in Core City or in Lower Underrail stills behave nicely.

How would Fort Apogee know what I have done in the dark corridors? I assume I could lie to them saying Mareth & Co. were taken down during the operation.

Very frustrating because I can't continue to infiltrate the Protectorate.

2. A long time after having sided with the Eels and Protectorate against the Scrappers in the Junkyard, and some/much time after events reported above (Mareth), I confront Mordre about some Piercing (pun intended). He is dead, time to go back to SGS... but the Protectorate guy just outside the cave on the way back gets aggressive for no (?) reason. He has not seen the fight against Mordre, so why would he take sides?

Bugs / Azif vs. Rude Bob!
« on: June 13, 2016, 09:57:24 am »

I was shocked to see Azif attack Rude Bob. Or was it the opposite, because Azif was too nosy and opened the wrong door?

Seriously speaking: Repeat with "talk to Azif in Hanging Rat while standing on the way out (or step to the way out to block Azif way when he asks you to follow him". Then the path algorithm sends Azif behind the counter, here you go with a probably unwanted fight between two NPCs.

PS: Who wins? Rude Bob!

Bugs / Efreitor Mateo's Head vs. Cornell's Head
« on: June 06, 2016, 07:51:37 pm »
I assume both are some sort of evidence. (Why them only, BTW).

Mateo's head weighs 4, while Cornell's is very lightweight (0.0). Is there some hidden intent ?

Suggestions / Spare shield...
« on: June 06, 2016, 07:08:42 pm »
The game offers the possibility to switch weapons/equipment during combat at the cost of the full (?) turn. I thought it would be a good idea for me to carry two fully charged shields... until I realised that I could not switch it with another one during combat. Why not ?

Bugs / Re: Zone Transition Fail
« on: June 04, 2016, 06:06:24 pm »
If this can help :

Running GOG v 1.0.1.10 Windows 8.1 (looks like the 32 bits version), I could play for tens of hours without any issue, then I suffered from the same "transition failures" or "save failures" as everyone else.

- Restarting the game did not help
- (tip found somewhere) Adding the top save directory to the exclusion list of my antivirus (Avast) did not help
- (tip found elsewhere) Adding the top save directory to the exclusion list for the indexer (yes, the infamous Windows Search Indexer) did not help
- (tip found nowhere, but derived from some hint about XNA being involved) Rebooting the computer did it. No further issues since then 5 hours play.

EDIT: I confirm that rebooting worked for me a second time.

Ask him about Core City. The dialog sub-branch must be there.

Correct. It is there. A little bit convoluted thinking in the design, though.

Bugs / Re: Possible bug in Gorsky's tunneler quest.

The second quest is triggered when you talk to Gorsky about the energy shields he mentioned during his initial briefing (Let's talk about Core City -> So how do we get those energy shields?). If you refused to do it by replying with either "I'll think about it" or "Heck no...", the quest will not start at that point, so you'll have to speak to him again by selecting "About those energy shields..." and accepting from there. If you are missing any of these options, however, then I'll take a look at your save to see what is going on.

I confirm there is no "energy shield" option when talking to Gorsky. I am left with three options "core city", "zone rats" and "leave".

I have created a save file; the full directory is 23Mb+ so I can dropbox it for you.

NO.

The other quest involves stealing a package from a warehouse. At the docks.

The other quest you mention has not been triggered yet... I can send you my current save, if need be.

The other quest is about the Gauntlet... which is painful and not funny. Do you mean the Gauntlet is NOT optional?

PS: I will not fight about spelling this way or that way. I might become as painful as the Gauntlet.
