That's weird - this is what I see on mine:

Are you running the latest version of Steam? I'm asking because I don't have DLC tab on mine.

@harperfan7 - what do you see when you click on the down triangle to the right of "NONE - Opt out of all beta programs".

player who are not getting the expansion should not be able to beat dominating difficulty with a dodge+evasion centric build?

Sorry, mate, but that sounds a bit like bull. You can get evasion and dodge pretty high on a dodge+evasion centric  build, so high, in fact, that on Hard difficulty with such build i don't even use any boosters like jumping beans because i already have more than twice in defense skills than most (or all) enemies have in offense skills. +30% is not such a radical change that it can make those builds obsolete. Though i imagine that it will push a point where you reach you effective ceiling further down the line and make a start more difficult.

My 0 dodge max evasion char is not at the end game yet. We'll see how things work once I reach the pre-DC elevator fight.

Well just did the elevator fight, at evasion 181 (Level 25, 7 AGI, max evasion skill, wearing infused pig leather tabi, padded infused rathound leather armor, 15% armor penalty) I can say dodge/evasion build received a slight but noticeable nerf at dominating difficulty. Previously on hard, version 1.0.2.x, with a very similar setup (higher dodge/evasion bonus from infused leather) I'm pretty much safe from almost all ranged attack. This time around I would get hit occasionally. One thing of note is my char was killed at full health by a burst (shield was down from other damage) from Faceless which never happened before.

Are dodge/evasion builds still viable at dominating difficulty at version 1.0.3.x? Yes. Did it also received a noticeable nerf? Also yes.

So how do I get this new material exactly?  If I go to my library in steam and right click "underrail", there is no "beta" tab.

Library -> right click on Underrail -> Properties -> BETAS tab

I can confirm this Demolisher spawn every time you reload the game - but I thought this is intentional as a penalty for a quickload (after you failed).

Well I thought he could be some sort of special perma-stealth dog like a night stalker in Fallout: New Vegas.  :P

« on: December 17, 2017, 02:54:52 am »
I'm not sure if this is intentional or not but Doberman is invisible. I can't target it with weapons since I can't see it. I was able to trap it w/ a bear trap and killed it w/ grenade.

Edited: Doberman won't be visible no matter what you do - trapped it, incap it w/ flashbang, damage it w/ frag grenade.

Unfortunately there's not enough skill for this char to invest in merchantile. :(

Can fleshbags resist it while taking the damage? As far as I know, it stuns if it deals damage.
Ancient Rathounds definitely resist the electrokinesis stun, at least on Dominating difficulty.  They seem completely immune to stuns, in fact, which makes handling them a bit of a puzzle for low-output builds like mine.  If they would just burn, it would be much simpler but they're implacable and unshakeable.

If immunity is different to resistance here, then I've missed the point.  Sorry, if so ^_^

They have always been immune to stun and flashbang even before the experimental patch. Bear trap is the way to go but if you don't have quick tinkering than try caltrops/toxic gas grenades.

I think Death Stalkers should be weaken a bit. As a CON 3, 0 dodge char I don't see any good option dealing w/ them without cheesing them with quick tinkering + bear traps. A single strike from a Death Stalkers and I'm already down to 20% health. Even with doctor's belt, irongut, antidote, adv health hypo it's very easy to be trap into an unwinnable situation. Caltrops, incendiary grenades, and flares helps but it requires foreknowledge so that's bad.

I don't know if I'm having really bad luck but I can't seem to locate a good quality plasma discharger (nothing higher than 11x), and good paddings (especially high-den, nothing higher than 10x) for leather armor. I unlocked every shop (except foundry secret shop) before DC and been doing numerous merchant runs. Are you guys having trouble locating high quality crafting components as well?

However i can still entagle myself in acid. That's unacceptable after the nerf to infused siphoner boots.

Second, XAL-001 entangle yourself is unacceptable after the nerf to infused siphoner boots. You should still take acid damage + puddle but the self-entangle will not happen.

Cheaty is probably the wrong description so I take that back. You are totally allow to play the game your way. My chars died plenty of times, just not to stuff that could be solved by maxing evasion.

The issue isn't permadeath no-save-at-all. The problem is with your setup you are either running around with the shield on all the time (not my style) and/or with no stealth at all. I'm pretty sure you are getting instant kill quite a bit by grenade/sniper aimed shot/xbow shock bolt. Sure you can just quickload or load up an autosave and stealth approach alpha strike out of them but this feel very cheaty to me.

After thinking about it, yes this is a viable approach but definitely not my style.

Regenerative PSI tactical antithermics overcoat of good quality is already god-like enouth, thank you. Well, with a god-like shield, I always forgot about the shield  :)

And indeed, full PSI > all :fapower:
Who needs evasion with a 2000ish high impact speed energy shield ?

After looking at the armor with supersteel plate and thinking about it - yeah I guess this combo could work, armor penalty @ 45% is not bad either. However, you still haven't answer the question on what do you do during early game without this setup? I'm guessing a combo of quickload, alpha strike and/or stealth everything?
